Hafthór Björnsson has the longest run of any Mountain in the show so far, so I'd say he's probably the official Gregor now.
Which is good, because that dude is seriously not far from literally being the Mountain irl. ![]()

I actually prefer Conan Stevens. He has the looks and basically oozes the "look at me and I'll kill your entire family"-psycho vibes.
Hafthor looks to (I'm afraid to say that about a dude who weighs nearly three times my body mass in pure muscle) "soft", if you know what I mean. He has this round and soft face that is more suitable to a gentle giant, imo, instead of the brutal maniac Gregor is supposed to be. Conan is just more "edgy".
No one seemed upset when I asked if anyone else was upset about his death earlier...
Wasn't he captured during the battle along with Mance in the books?
Yes, and Melisandre used a glamour to make him like Mance and burned him instead of Mance, whom they sent to infiltrate Winterfell. Hence why in the burning episode, I was concerned that he wasn't shouting "I'm not Mance!"
Instead, it was just an execution. Because dull is good, apparently.

Ah, that's right. I forgot that he (unfortunately) took Mance's place.
I tend to like characters that wear bones as decoration/armor mostly since I tend to play necromancer characters in RPGs whenever applicable.
Interesting. Burning Mance (but with less subplot intrigue than in the books) is dull. Burning Shireen is doing things for shock value.
I think it has more to do with the way that it was done than the actual burning.
Of course, I also don't really mind it as much as others.

Well, I mean... for someone who says she loves her children more than life itself, it seems she only has one left. And... honestly? His current profession doesn't indicate he's much longer for this world, either.
What will happen to Cersei when all of her kids die? Find out... next time onDragonball ZGame of Thrones!
Should Tommen bite the dust expect Ser Pounce to grow up to become the Catman and exert bloody vengeance on everybody who wronged Tommen or eats beets.
I can already see the final fight of the series: Arya, aka "The Punisher" vs. the Catman vs. shirtless Ramsay & 20 good men.
It will be such a spectacle to behold that our very eyes will go full Jaden and stop being real.

Go full-on cackling crazy?
That or fully become Ma-Ma from Dredd.
Honestly apart from Margaery, Olena and to a lesser extent Loras getting out of there alive, I don't really care about King's Landing anymore. To me it seems quite clear the Lannisters are finished. Someone just needs to burn the insufferable fanatics, after that it doesn't matter.
You're just seeing the main house. There are actually a boatload of other Lannister characters who are actually good, strong, and decent at their jobs.
Kevan Lannister. That man is Tywin light, and one of the only people Tywin trusted to get things done well and proper. Varys had him killed in ADwD because Kevan was doing too well of a job at fixing Cersei's blunders. Varys had to murder him when it became apparent that Kevan wasn't going to screw up the job, nor was he going to screw around.
Hell, IMHO, the only truly bad Lannisters were Cersei and Joffrey. Jaime is recovering and struggling to become a better person, and Tyrion has always had that struggle as well (and it's easy to see why, given that most of his family hates him).
Since he's still alive on the show, I expect to see him clashing with Cersei next season.
Spoiler
Agreed. They already hate each other and Jaime knows that Cersei cheated on him. "Lancel, Osmund Kettleblack and and probably Moon Boy for all I know".
Spoiler
Jaime is younger by several seconds. Cercei was fuming that she would've been a Casterly Rock heir, has she been a boy.
I thought I would be the only one placing a flower in Tywin's grave.
Who in the Seven Hells places flowers at Rorge and Biter's graves?
The same people who place flowers on Tywin's grave.

Yeah, in the show Kevan hasn't done much. He wasn't having any of Cersei's crap earlier in the season so he gets respect for that. And if he starts to take a more active role I'd be interested to see where that goes. Logically he should be working with Olena to undo Cersei's full retard moment and restore the Queen and heir to Highgarden to the proper places as well as bring down the ******* fanatics. Hopefully we'll see how he does next season.
Jaime doesn't impress me, as I said before. It seems like he can't or won't take charge. I could understand refusing to leave the King's Guard when Tywin was still alive because he didn't want to be forced into a marriage, but now that Tywin's gone? Why not claim his birthright and take charge of the House? Then he can set **** up the way he wants to. Become Hand of the King, stay in KL, bang Cersei if that's all he really cares about and find some simpleton noble girl to marry who won't ask questions in order to keep tongues from wagging. Clearly he was sidelined this season with the now confirmed useless Dorne plot, but if he doesn't step up his game next season I think he'll be a total write off.
Tyrion I have nothing against. I figure if Daenerys wins she wipes out the existing Lannisters and he can start the House over. Pretty big if though, even with the obvious favoritism.
Then there's the matter of the source of Lannister power (their gold mines) drying up. So yeah, maybe they're not out of it yet, but they are greatly diminished.

Kevan simply is more of a satellite character here than in the books. They haven't really decided to put him forward yet. Like Pycelle. We barely saw the dude at all this season. Logically, Kevan would do that, while subverting the Tyrells as much as possible. He hates them. In the books, he concedes to give Mace Hand of the King, while he is Lord Regent (so thus able to actually rule), while making a more sympathetic Randall Tarly his Master of Laws. Otherwise, Kevan doesn't want the Queen of Thorns anywhere near King's Landing, and, while working to bring closer reconciliation to Highgarden and King's Landing, he doesn't hide from the fact that he puts his foot down with the Tyrells. As I said, he's a milder, but no less competent version of Tywin.
Jaime doesn't want to rule. He never wanted to rule. It's not where his heart is. He's more of a leader than a ruler. And he'll likely forsake Cersei before long too, as he becomes a better man. It has nothing to do with wanting to be forced into a marriage for him. It has to do with him just not wanting the job. Granted, Cersei is really all he's interested in, but I expect that to change next season (not that he'll start looking at others so much as he starts to distance himself from Cersei). Otherwise, Show!Jaime (Let's call him Jimmy) has arguably had as much character derailment as Stannis has had character assassination.
I don't mind Tyrion when he isn't a writers pet. Unfortunately, he is. That he's remotely likable still is a testament to the character itself, and the way that Peter Dinklage acts, more than the quality of the writing.
The Lannisters have alternate means to make their fortune. Even if the gold mines went dry, Tywin was able to put what was left into practical and useful ventures that ensured no less interference. He knew how to play his economics. And then Joffrey went and started a war... That's what blew the fortunes. And Cersei doesn't help matters. Saying FU to the Iron Bank of Braavos and the Faith in the books, deciding the realm needs a new and costly Navy, then giving command of the fleet to a very sketchy man who predictably sails off with the fleet for his own mercenary goals, then commissioning ANOTHER fleet to find and track down the previous fleet. All of this alienates Jaime who is hurt by her constant belittling of his change of attitude and appearance, her revulsion at the loss of his hand, and his knowledge that she has been very unfaithful to him (whereas he at least only ever had eyes for her).
She commissions a pricey mission to send a member of the Kingsguard to murder Prince Trystane Martell and blame it on Tyrion (she's still completely obsessed with Tyrion, and absolutely paranoid that anyone against her is an agent of his trying to humiliate and murder her), which of course ends up with Myrcella being badly disfigured (although I think that was a separate issue caused by Arianne Martell Ellaria Sand and the Sand Snakes (which have been totally butchered).)
Damnit, the show verse is making me mistake the books now.
I like Tommen. He's in over his head with no one really giving him good advice, but he could have been a good king if he was both older and better trained by someone like Tywin.
Better than in the books where Cersei outright threatens to rip out the whipping boys tongue (and Tommen's friend) if Tommen ever defies her again, as well as actively saying that he will never be as good or as strong a king as Joffrey would have been.
I really wish we saw more of books Cersei in the show. She's downright nuts in a way that the show just hasn't done justice too.
"Gold shall be their crowns and gold their shrouds. And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you"
Just a note about that. Catelyn and Lysa called Littlefinger Little Brother, when they were younger.
