Madnerly's north remembers speech...

My son Wendel came to the the Twins a guest. He ate Lord Walder's bread and salt, and hung his sword upon the wall to feast with friends. And they murdered him. Murdered, I say, and may the Freys choke upon their fables. I drink with Jared, jape with Symond, promise Rhaegar the hand of my own beloved granddaughter ... but never think that means I have forgotten. The north remembers, Lord Davos. The north remembers, and the mummer’s farce is almost done. My son is home

Ah... gotta love Lord Too-Fat-to-Sit-a-Horse and the rest of House Manderly. True Northmen!

"I know about the promise … Maester Theomore, tell them! A thousand years before the Conquest, a promise was made, and oaths were sworn in the Wolf's Den before the old gods and the new. When we were sore beset and friendless, hounded from our homes and in peril of our lives, the wolves took us in and nourished us and protected us against our enemies. The city is built upon the land they gave us. In return we swore that we should always be their men. Stark men!"

The book North remembers. The show North apparently has Alzheimer's.

Show North got skinned by God-King Ramsay and 20 good men before it could remember.

Aye, Wylla's great too.

Wylla. Did you see how brave she was? Even when I threatened to have her tongue out, she reminded me of the debt White Harbor owes to the Starks of Winterfell, a debt that can never be repaid. Wylla spoke from the heart ... not every woman can be as brave as my Wylla.

Can't wait to see which characters they'll choose to butcher in the next season.

Hopefully they'll fix Bloodraven up like they did the WW and the NK, especially since Bran's coming back and that probably means more screen time for the two of 'em. More man-tree, less hobo santa sitting on a wooden stage.

Yeah he keeps being rather....I dunno. "The show is its own thing." "They are trying to make the best show they can". Things like that. Sounds like a bit of forced diplomacy,

I fear for Bronn's life honestly. He barely scraped by this season, and there isn't really a heck of a lot left to do with him.

Hodor could have made a better battle plan than they show Stannis doing in the finale. There wasn't a plan. It was "we need to kill off Stannis and his whole army, how we gonna do that... psychological crisis, cut to a CGI shot, done." And no explanation for how half his army and all his horses could have slunk off in the night with him none the wiser.

Extremely shoddy.

NONE of us are saying that Stannis was supposed to win. But if he was going to lose and die, do it in a way that befits the character and the entire build-up to the battle.

Also, to the topic of Stannis losing battles in the field- he crushed Mance.

Nah, I completely agree with you in that regard, that they had Stannis' entire army get defeated offscreen was an extremely lame way to get him out of the picture, reminded me of that similar offscreen battle between the Night's Watch and the Army of the Dead between S2 and S3.

As for Stannis beating Mance, does it really count? There was little actual fighting since Stannis launched a surprise attack against Wildlings who had absolutely no idea another army was getting involved in their conflict, who were all half-knackered from having just spent the entire night fighting against the Crows.

Makes me think that if this was in a MMO, Stannis would be that player who waits until the other players have wittled down each other's health, before swooping in and stealing the kill.

Mance had 100 000 wildlings. About 200 of them died vs the Night's Watch. Stannis got the rest. The show did a POOR job of it, for sure. Looked like stannis vs 20 guys chopping wood in the forest.

Lucky for Stannis that it wasn't 20 good men.

The amount of "OMG JON SNOW IS BACK!?" articles, videos and the like cropping up are just obnoxious. I guess spoiling events for people who haven't seen the show (or last season) isn't such a big deal! Gotta get those page clicks.

Yeah, I dunno where they're gonna go with Bronn. I do hope he gets enough screen time in the next season - he made the Dorne scenes watchable.

On a more serious note, perhaps Cersei will try to implicate Bronn as an accomplice in Myrcella's murder, due to his past allegiance to Tyrion. Seems like the kind of crazy paranoid thing she'd do.

It's not paranoia if they really are out to get you.

I hope the Mountain smashes the high sparrow's face in, then kills the entire population of king's landing using lancel lannister's de-armed torso as a blunt weapon.

Then Arya kills the mountain in a ruthless yet cute, plucky way.

Yeah, beware the Internet. It is dark and full of spoilers.
