Madness ran in his family.  I wanted him dead, but when you look at the overall picture it's to bad he didn't get a clean death.

A clean death would've been too kind for him. The death he got was fitting.

Pretty early on when reading A Game of Thrones, you figure that Viserys is going to die.

Thing is, in the books(and the show), you don't want to put too much faith in your favorite characters surviving to the end-

They usually die at some point.

I hope the game doesn't end up sucking, but I'm willing to bet it will.

Oh it will suck. The game will suck SO f**king hard.

As for season 2, I can not wait to see what Snow will do, or his youngest sister. I suppose I should read the novels, but those two are probably the most interesting of all the "children" in the show. I'm also looking forward to "The Dragon" bringing war to the throne.

A week is so long to wait!:crying:

You should definately check out the books. Some of the best reads you will ever have and I think add enough that they are still worth reading despite seeing the first season of the tv show.

Mind you I've only managed the first two so far but I saw an offer on Kindle of getting both of the book three books for £10 which I shall be taking up next week.

Have seasons 3 and 4 been confirmed yet? I read in the paper last week that the casting agency here who handled seasons 1 and 2 have been told to start casting extra's and actors for seasons 3 and 4 over the next few months. I'm not sure how truthful it is because the paper that ran the story are usually less than trustworthy.

Seasons 3 and 4 are expected to be ordered right after the season 2 premiere has aired, but nothing is officially confirmed yet as of now.

And I think the RPG will be an alright game in the 70's range, maybe high 60's or low 80's. The MMO however will probably suck terribly.

GRRM doesn't really know games, so it was kinda like highway robbery for Cyanide when getting the rights. I wish he went with a better developer. Hell, I would have loved to see what Obsidian could do with it, or Taleworlds (creator of Mount and Blade)

Yea, video games based off of tv shows, books, and movies generally aren't that good. There aren't very many that I can say pulled it off.

I remember I bought the Sopranos video game, thinking it'd be as awesome as the Godfather video game, or at least awesome in its own right.

It wasn't. It was extremely linear and could be completed in two hours. Three at most.

Honestly though, mostly everyone dies.

Sweet peaches the second season is looking good. :o

Harenhal looks like it took forever to get just right, the set designers need a big bonus paycheck.

Damn Iceland looks pretty awesome. I want to go to there.

I can't recall being this excited about a tv series before. You've probably all already seen this but its helping to get my hype levels even further...

I thought his death was just for someone who w**red thier little sister in order to satisfy his lustful ambitions, ambitions he wasn't prepared to contend with. If anything what he got was a light sentence, I was expecting the Dothraki to be much more violent with him given their nature.

For those who want to referesh their memory/catch up, I'd recommend reading Leigh Butler's 1st read at tor.com. She's scintillating given this is her first read of the first book in the series. Non-spolery comments, a separate spoilery thread as well where people talk about her observations.

Tower of the Hand seems to be an awesome site, too. Probably everyone knows them and of course westeros but yet.

Trust me, Khal Drogo would've given Vyseris a much more brutal and gruesome death had he been allowed, but remember, he was on sacred dothraki ground. No blood must be spilled.

In which case, Khal Drogo did the best with what he had. Give Vyseris a literal "golden crown".

Only in this case, the gold was piping hot liquid.

I love that interpretation. Some would take "no blood must be spilled" to mean no killing period. Drogo on the other hand takes it to its literal meaning.

"Here's your golden crown!"

*pours molten gold on Vyseris' head*

*Drogo turns to his fellow Dothraki*

"Well, I didn't spill any blood!"

"That's our Khal Drogo!"

Laughter ensues.

I'm torn between who I like more: Tyrion Lannister or Littlefinger.
