6pm here in San Jose, I would guess that's the same everywhere. Replays at 8 and 10pm.chunkyman wrote...

I can't catch the show as I don't have HBO.
So I plan to go outside and take a dip into a beautiful creek.
I love streams.

It was also condensed as hell. Obviously they cannot fit everything from the books in there, but it felt less like season one's surgical editing than a hacksaw chopping off chunks of fat. XD.

As I told a friend moments ago, I give the season two premiere a B. Maybe a B-. Some very good stuff there. Some not so good. I want to see it a few more times before going into detail. However, my first impression was that there were too many clunky transitions save for one to Dany. It was also condensed as hell. Obviously they cannot fit everything from the books in there, but it felt less like season one's surgical editing than a hacksaw chopping off chunks of fat. XD
The way certain plot elements that were slowly unraveled in ACoK for dramatic effect were dropped in with no subtlety at all.
Favorite scenes on first blush:
- Watching the Seven burn on the beach of Dragonstone.
- Stannis getting all nitpicky with his scribe.
- Cersei echoing Xykon's perspective on the true nature of power to Littlefinger.
- Robb's conversation with Jaime.
- The intro including Dragonstone in it. I almost squee'd.

Imagine if it was on a non-premium channel like AMC with commercials every 5 minutes. The story would SUCK.

Yeah, I kind of have a problem when people compare movies and TV shows to books like the two are competing. It's understandable that the discussions will crossover. But it's impossible to appease to every aspect of someone's imagination or cover EVERYTHING. There are some obvious things that they simply cannot go into, like a character's deepest thoughts. (Unless they were doing some type of narration, which I'm glad they're not).Seagloom wrote...
No doubt. However, tonight's episode underscored it is better to treat this program as its own entity. Comparing it directly to the books would be maddening. Some of the changes in tonight's episode were severe enough it radically changes the characterization of certain characters.

Grey Wind particularly looked rather huge in the scene with Jaime.

Was the scene where Cersei slapped Joffrey a new addition? I don't recall it from the books.

If it isn't, it should have been.
I love any scene that involves Joffrey being physically or mentally abused. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/wizard.png[/smilie]
