People would be disturbed by the events of the book being reenacted on screen if the actors were the same age or played the same age as the characters in the novels.

YES! You could see it clearly in the beach scene, and he rubs it once during the council. I'll screencap it if I can't find a shot of it somewhere.AxisEvolve wrote...
Did we see his finger pouch yet? I can't wait until they go into his backstory.Addai67 wrote...
I think Davos has five or six sons and four are old enough to fight. Liam Cunningham is perfect IMO. He does the humble everyman very well.
The things I squee over... GRRM messes with your mind...
edit- This isn't from ep 1, but you can see it here.

I read how GRRM said that he's glad the show made the kids older. Something about how he wishes he would have done it in the books.. I personally agree. When I read the series I pictured them older than how they were originally stated in aGoT. It is my "head-canon" and probably his one too.addiction21 wrote...
That was a thought I had when reading the first book. Many of the kids appear older in the show then what they are in the books.
Bran being 8 and Robb Stark and Jon Snow being 16.
It's not a big deal but just a thought I had when reading.

More disturbing than a man with a herd of daughter sex slaves? I've been enjoying their "audacity" to portray "controversial" content so far, who not go all the way?

Via Wic-net, HBO is saying that will not happen. It was a mistake and ep 2 has already been taken down where it leaked.AxisEvolve wrote...
Edit: Apparently the episodes are uploaded early to HBO GO in other countries, so we can expect a new episode a week early all season.

I had this in mind when Jaime called Robb a boy in last Sunday's episode. I was like, "dude, he barely looks any younger than you!"
I know, I know... in context it can be taken as a dig at Robb's inexperience, but I still snickered at it.

I hope they go into detail with the little things from the books.. The subtleties are always the best parts for me.
When Stannis smirked at Cressen during the first scene as a way of siding with Melisandre. I thought the look of disapointment on Maester Cressen's face was a perfect interpretation of how he felt during the prologue. They couldn't capture his thoughts, but they portrayed his expression really well in that moment.

Hmm.. I guess I should enjoy this one and only episode leak then.

Wasn't that scene new, as in not written in the books? Kind of funny that they'd use the word "boy".

Because when you go all the way, you get infamous scenes like the 8 minute rape scene in Irréversible.

Didn't Belucci and Vincent get all kinds of awards for that movie? I've seen more than my fair share of dark thrillers, and I can honestly say that scene was one of the few that really shook me. It honestly felt like that one scene was from someone's private collection of snuff films, and their choice of camera only made it feel more so.
I just honestly think people in television and film should be more daring, they'd be applauded for it.

Oh I understood why it was done. Just my experiance going from the show to the book and seeing the actors in my mind. Its no problem for me.
I don't have HBO (Im cheap and watch TV so little it does not bother me) but I hope they get the DVD set out sooner. I am not trying not to rush thru the books so I don't end up in another Dark Tower situation. Where I am waiting for the next book.
It's pretty much the reason I have just been hoarding the books up untill now.

Hmmmm...they didn't take it down fast enough! Oh ho ho
I'll end up watching episode 2 again Sunday, but I'll just say that they've changed a great deal from the books in that episode. Like, kind of a lot of stuff. Not sure how I feel about it...

Lucy Lawless getting pounded is quite something. It's realistic what they do in Game of Thrones though I guess.

Episode 2 salt wife?

Faithful to the book I guess, but didn't need to see that.
