WiC has posted the titles and brief descriptions for episodes 16-19. Somewhat spoilery so read at your own risk if you haven't read the books. Even having read the books, I'm kind of confused on some of the vague descriptions on them.

The titles anyway:
Episode 16 – “The Old Gods and the New” by Vanessa Taylor
Episode 17 – “A Man Without Honor” by David Benioff & D.B. Weiss
Episode 18 – “The Prince of Winterfell” by David Benioff & D.B. Weiss
Episode 19 – “Blackwater” by George R. R. Martin

Heh...the Prince of Winterfell...

Anywho, I have successfully gotten my mother and stepfather into Game of Thrones.

So much so that after watching the first season, they now want to make some of the meals on http://www.innatthecrossroads.com/

Oh yeah, and we're buying this when it comes out on the 29th of May-

All of Arya and Tyrion's scenes were great. I also enjoyed the Night's Watch stuff aside from that final bit. Everything else was disappointing on some level; although "Yara" takes the crown. I'm glad she has a different name. If nothing else I can pretend she's another character. :P

Well... I have to say I didn't enjoy this episode as much as the first. It's impossible to switch off the sense of "it's not like that, it's supposed to be like this" and this episode was almost wholly made up of those moments. That, and the cruelty was relentless this time even with no blood spilled. The only light moment was Gendry and Arya, one of those "this didn't really happen" times but one that I didn't mind as much because it was so cute.

On Twitter the non-book-readers seem to have really liked it. So, I dunno. I'll wait to see if the changes they made pan out in how the season develops.

As someone who didn't read the books, I can confirm that it was one of the best episodes. :D

Yes it is hard to take in some of the changes. Why do they feel the need to ruin a perfectly good story that is in the books? Season 1 was very faithful to Game of Thrones, besides some differences. Here's it's like they are making freaking huge differences.

I mean seriously Stannis having sex with Melisandre?

I completely forgot the character name change, and was very confused when he blurted out a name I didn't recognize - I actually thought he called her "Arya".

I did enjoy the episode, so long as I can divorce myself from the book.  Which is, admittedly, difficult.

I'm willing to give D & D the benefit of the doubt that they are positioning storylines in ways they think make sense. It just didn't make for very enjoyable television, for me. I tune in to see GRRM's story. I guess I can't divorce.

The Asha name change, that is the one that is just dumb. It's hilarious to me that someone misheard it as Arya since the whole point was to keep people from being confused between her and Osha. Dumb. It will rankle every time they say it, and in the commentary about the show people will be calling her by her true name which will confuse non-book readers even more.

Oh, I did like Ghost!!  But where the hell is he in the final scene?

What about Dolorous Edd?

And I realized on watching it tonight that Pod was in the one scene with Tyrion!

I get the feeling that the last scene is just a cheap way to make a TV show cliffhanger. And then next episode Craster will kick out the Night's Watch and Jon won't know exactly what he saw and Mormont will tell him to keep it to himself, or something.

I'm just getting the feeling a lot of stuff is getting shuffled around and we're seeing a lot of the more minor characters condensed or pushed back until later. Such that some character's storylines might not match up where they ended in the show with where they ended in ACOK. Which might make sense if they're basically cutting A Storm of Swords into 2 seasons- they could put some of the ending bits to A Clash of Kings into the beginning of season 3.

This show has some truly amazing CGI. If Ghost didn't come up to the girl's chest you'd be very hard pressed to tell that he wasn't real.

It WAS real.   The game of thrones people use Northern Inuits, a breed of dog that looks like wolves, to play them in this series.

No, he's not. In Season 1 they had adult dogs playing them since they were still direwolf puppies, but since Grey Wind and Ghost are now the size of small horses they have to be CGI.

I thought I read somewhere that for the direwolves, they basically filmed real wolves in front of green screens and then basically scaled them up to make them bigger and via green screen/CGI put them in the scenes. So they're technically real wolves, just scaled up and placed in the scenes after the fact.

Funnily enough, Northern Inuits are a rather new breed of dog bred from mixed dogs of unknown origin with my three favorite breeds, the-

Which ended up giving us the Northern Inuit

It's a perspective trick. How do you think they made the Hobbits so small in Lord of the Rings, or how they made Hagrid so big in Harry Potter?

First season it was the Northern Inuit dogs now it's wolves with added CGI trickery.

And you have a direwolf. There's some magic happening there, too.

My lips are sealed on that front! But I wouldn't mind having a dragon. [Laughs.] But being up in the North with the cold and the wolves appeals to me, so I'm happy. The wolves, by the way, are not CGI. They film real wolves and superimpose a bit of CGI magic on the scenes, so they look amazing. I'd actually prefer CGI wolves — they sort of do what they're told.  Real animals are trickier.

Another quibble: it seems like they combined Selyse Florent and Shireen into one character. Or rather, Selyse inherited the illness Shireen has in the books. At least that is my assumption based on Melisandre's comments.

You know, I can put up with narrative changes as long as the story's tone remains intact. I can accept Bronn as guard captain, or Joffrey ordering the deaths of Robert's bastards. What I cannot accept is when a character comes off completely different from the book such as "Yara" or Renly. I do not care if that is a result of writing or acting. Either way it is very distracting and annoys the hell out of me.

Arya's scene with Gendry was definitely my favorite this episode. The tone didn't come across as it did in the book, but I loved it. It put another spin something that I still felt worked. Wish I could say the same about everything else.

Too many changes... *twitch*

Worst being the Stannis scene. Almost made me want to give up on the whole TV series then and there.

I'm actually gonna wait until a few episodes have aired before watching. It seems that this season is taking more liberties so I'd rather see how it all pans out rather than agonise over the changes in each individual episode lol.

By "the wolves" I take it he meant the direwolves. They still use Northern Inuit dogs, they just add CGI to the scenes to make them appear differently, doing things they couldn't normally do, etc etc.

Good stuff.

To hopefully clear things up once and for all: As has been repeatedly stated in interviews (scour through the links on WiC.net, specifically those with D&D, and you'll find them) the dire wolves this season are real wolves* filmed against green screen and then added into the scenes.

*they specifically said in one interview that no matter how wolfy they may be, you notice the difference between a dog and a wolf, so a dog just looks a bit off and with them using green screen anyway to make them the proper size they can now go with the real deal

edit: or yeah, follow the link posted above for example.

edit2: am catching up backwards, so yep, what Brock said is da truth

Ghost looked great, but the idea that he wouldn't be following Jon when he was out in the woods near a white walker just makes it more apparent that that scene was a "creative" addition.

What are they doing with Littlefinger anyway? They are laying it on so thick with him. Doesn't everyone know by now that he's a manipulative lowlife? That whole bit in the brothel seemed entirely unnecessary. Not only was it gross, but it pushes LF into strange characterization angles. I just have no idea what they are doing with his character.

Yea I didn't like it either. It was too blunt and exagerrated an attempt to remind us of his character. If the aim was to remind people that they should hate him, then it's completely unnecessary as I doubt they forgot what he did with Ned.
