Steam can cause an error with ME2.

The 'tm' symbol in the path name will cause steam to not launch the game for some users.

Edit the file name of Mass Effect'tm' 2 to Mass Effect 2 and then add the game to the steam library. That will solve issues.

Now that they added the firepower pack to the promotion, can I still have it if I redeemed my ME2 code yesterday?

As a fan I already had the game. Would have appreciated free DLC more.

Add Bioware points that I can use to buy stuff for one of your good games then come back and talk to me.

To clarify for others: Cerberus Network is tied to the DA2 account. So if you gift, the receiving party has to buy their own Cerberus Network account.

Thanks Bioware and congratulations. Throwing ME2 into the deal after spending $60 on a mediocre DA2 certianly makes me feel better about the DA2 purchase. Quite the bargain!

Dear BioWare,
I already have Mass Effect 2 AND ALL DLCs (yes, including both appearance packs) for the PC, and, for the most part, they were very good.

Dragon Age 2, on the other hand, while somewhat enjoyable, was more of a disappointment.
So....

(free) ENHANCED EDITION for Dragon Age 2, please.

Reward loyal customers but they don't get the Firepower Pack too like someone who buys DA2 now? Whats up with that?

Give everyone the Firepower Pack, Bioware.

And I already got the Firepower Pack so I am championing for everyone else to get it too. It's only fair.

Just a thought, but how about a download code for The Arrival on ME2 for those of us who have already purchased both games. I get wanting to attract more fans to ME2, what with the Arrival just released and the impending release of ME3 and think it's a cool idea, but how about something for your already established fan base. It wouldn't be the first time a company gave a way a free DLC to it's loyal fans.

What game would that be?  Still hoping for another Baldur's Gate expansion?

So you don't like Dragon Age 2 or Mass Effect 2?

What DO you like?

Is the Sequel Celebration also offering these ME2 copies via Steam? Or does it have to be via the EADM? I would much prefer Steam, if possible...

ME2 was friken great, I got it at a midnight relase(I have only done that twice), and already have all the DLC for it so this really does nothing at all for me. I honestly feel like I'm being punished for being a good fan.

EADM. But someone posted in the other thread which is now 19 or 20 pages that you can download it, install it then add it to the Steam client. I don't know the steps because I don't use it but someone posted it is possible.

Although I just bought Mass Effect 2 for Xbox, I appreciate the gesture Bioware, sorry that some people don't.
I can't believe people are griping about a free game.

Anyway, thanks for the PC copy.

EADM only - giving a free copy of ME2 via a platform they get charged to use would be a somewhat silly idea on their part, the way they are doing it simply costs them bandwidth as they are using their own systems.

Install EADM, install ME2, remove EADM, manually add game to Steam via Games -> Add a Non-Steam game to my Library...

For those of you installing ME2 be sure to download the latest ME2 patch. Unlike Steam EADM does not provide pre-patched games.

If doing the above, make sure to take note of this too:

Funny, I bought every Bioware game since the original knights of the old republic, but I dont get anything from this...

Guess I'm not loyal enough...

But seriously, this is weak Bioware, how many people here honestly have DA2, but NOT ME2? Grats to all the 10 people out there who can take advantage of this...

How about putting in some DLC in DA2 or something?  That will reward EVERYBODY who bought this shallow and obviously rushed game.

As one of the very few people who hasn't played ME or ME2 yet... I am definitely grateful for the free copy of ME2. It's a shame that it wasn't available for all platforms, but understandable that it's just for the pc.

I would've preferred new Dragon Age 2 content... but that's just because I want more Dragon Age to play. lol

Thanks for the free game! I might just have to give pc gaming a try and see how I like ME2.

Thanks to gamers like you, Dragon Age II is off to a great start – breaking the 1 million mark in less than two weeks and faster than Dragon Age: Origins. We appreciate your support. As a special thank you for helping with the game’s early success, BioWare would like to present you with a download code for 2010’s Game of the Year, Mass Effect 2 on PC.

As always, we sincerely appreciate your support and passion as we remain focused on delivering quality interactive experiences now and in the future.  Look for more exciting things coming from Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and Star Wars: The Old Republic in the future, including our recent launch of Mass Effect 2 Arrival DLC.

To qualify and get your Mass Effect 2 PC download code, please follow these steps before April 30, 2011 at 11:59pm PDT:

  • Activate the Online Pass content that came with your copy of Dragon Age II (The Black Emporium)
  • Start the game and log in using your EA Account or create a new EA Account
  • Visit http://social.bioware.com/me2offer and log in with that EA Account
  • Enter your Online Pass code and click “Submit”.  You will then be provided the code for Mass Effect 2.
  • Open the EA Download Manager and enter the code to commence download (if you don’t have the EA Download Manager installed, it can be found HERE)

:o HE SAID IT, HE SAID IT! THERE WILL BE MORE DRAGON AGE, I WILL USE QUOTES!!!!

Seriously, for me, Dragon Age's story is comparable to LotR.  It honestly beats Mass Effect story wise, that's saying a lot, as I'm a HUGE Sci-Fi fanboy, but honestly Dragon Age has almost completely converted me to might and magic.

This, and this is for people that don't.  My [extra-dimensional supernatural superior being], it's FREE, why must you complain?  I took advantage of this as I have ME2 for the Xbox but not for PC and if I'm ever traveling I can have the BioWare love right there! ^^

Seriously, get over yourself you greedy ******!

Surely you can understand why those of us with copies already aren't absolutely ecstatic that we have another copy.
