I laughed pretty hard when Hawke said that line. It immediately made me think of game forums, where I had said something similar in the past.

Good deal. People should have nothing to complain about. Even if you already own ME 2, you haven't actually lost anything by others being given it for free.

Thanks Bioware, though I already have ME 2, this might be part of the first step back into the goodbooks of many of your disillusioned fans.

True that.  I'm thinking of giving it to my cousin as a gift because he really enjoyed ME but has no time for games nowadays so he decided to hold off buying ME2.  I'll wait for the official word on this and see if I can give a cerberus pass to someone.

I think people who can't benefit from the offer because they don't play on PC have the right to feel that it is a bit unfair.  Us who can't play ME2 on the PC are getting nothing even though we bought DAII new (especially since a digital version exists for the PS3, not sure about 360).

So it's like, thanks but there's a reason I bought DAII for my PS3 - it's because I play my games on it!

Excellent deal! Unfortunately I already have a boxed retail copy of ME2, if I didn't I'd be chuffed to bits by this.

What can I say, I like to have me some discs because I like to be able to revisit old games - I have PC games from nearly 20 years ago that I sometimes load up and play under emulation (love DosBox!),

Although I preordered both games and don't regret paying full price, I honestly would say getting ME2 with a purchase of DA2 is a better deal than the Signature Edition content. Meh. Oh well. I guess the lesson is to not jump on the bandwagon early...

I think you misunderstand what's happening. Everyone who has a copy of DA2 is getting a copy of ME2. Doesn't matter if you already own DA2 or if you're buying it tomorrow.

:wizard:

Ha, I think you misunderstand my post.  Like I said, I own both games, on PC.  I would gladly have taken up the offer if it were for ME2 on Xbox, but again, meh.  So this doesn't do anything for me.

Again, IS THE REDEEM CODE ACCOUNT-LINKED? AKA. DOES THIS "CELEBRATION" BENEFIT THE TRULY LOYAL BIOWARE GAMERS in any way shape or form?

Sorry for the caps, but when an question goes unanswered for 5 times and does not appear in any of the FAQs, one gets FRUSTRATED.

Too tired to bother with a demotivational poster, but it would say "we know you like Mass Effect 2, so we put a copy of Mass Effect 2 in your Dragon Age 2".

I agree with statements about would be nice to be all versions if buy and play Bioware titles on another format. When I got hints that this existed and thought 2 for 1, I assumed it was a only for new purchases, as that is not the case I do appreciate and am thankfull for it. Still would be nice if those who play Bioware titles could use it on their format they buy for via PSN download or XBL I have to admit.

Nice, but, I already own ME2 on PC & Xbox360, plus most of the DLC for both platforms. DA2 was a MASSIVE disappointed for me, and didn't live up to it's predecessor in story or depth.

This offer is open to all people who buy a new copy of Dragon Age II (PC, PS3 and Xbox 360), not just Dragon Age II PC users. It is for a free PC copy of Mass Effect 2, but it is available to ALL Dragon Age II customers. :)

By new, do you mean those that bought it at a certain date, or anyone who bought it day one till the end of April?

First of all, this is really cool.  Thanks Bioware.

Sadly, I cannot get the access code to work.

I bought DA2 Sig Edition for Xbox 360 the night it was released and have been playing it since.  I have activated all the content, including the Black Emporium.

However, when I enter my online pass code at http://social.bioware.com/me2offer I keep getting the following error-

"We were unable to verify that you have activated your Online Pass.
Online Pass verification may take up 72 hours to detect. Please make
sure you have followed the 3 steps below."

I have also tried to activate it using the "Lost my pass" option with the same result.

I have read that this offer is available to all purchasers, including those of us on console systems, but despite the fact my account is linked to the game and all my content is showing up under "registered game content" I can't seem to make this work.  Is there some other way I need to activate my online pass, or is this some error other people are experiencing?  Thanks.

Hmm, anyone else having trouble. More specifically getting a 'Communication Error'? I'm assuming this is simply because it's either new or because everyone's rushing to input their codes, but it'd be nice to know I'm not alone XP. Edit: Got it working.

But I kind of agree with the people complaining about platform, as I'd prefer to own it on PS3. But what is REALLY bothering me is I own it for 360 and have bought almost all the missions for it. Those wont carry over to PC :( Understandable, but annoying.

I bought my copy DA2 around release day, the free PC copy of ME2 works for me using the code I got from DA2 on mine.

You need a black emporium code to get your copy of ME2, any from pre-orders till the end of april will do.

I'm a little torn about this being a good thing and a bad thing. On one hand, yay! Free game that I've wanted to pick up for a while but have been too poor to get! On the other hand, hey, I enjoyed DA2 and will replay it a lot in the future. And I'm not enough of a silly goose to fail to realize that this is, intentionally or not, a response to all the fans that have been demanding "free content" because they felt DA2 sucked.

I'm really sorry, Bioware. This is kind of a gross situation. I may not have always liked your company, but I'm certainly sympathetic to this situation. Therefore, every dev may receive a cyber-hug from me. I don't require a code or purchase of a game for that! I'm nothing, if not generous.

Seriously, though, I don't know if I should take this up or not.

Yes the code should be on the slip of paper that came in your DA2 box black emporium one. And you have to log into EA account to put in code, but as mentioned worked fine for me and my copy is one bought around release day on PS3.

I have all of Biowares games, I'm not complaining that they're giving me a free copy of a game I really enoyed, it's pretty decent really.

This is exactly my problem which I highlighted earlier in the thread. I think it's due to the fact any DLC activated/bought on Xbox Live(The emporium code in the 360 version was a marketplace code rather than an EA code) doesn't get activated on your EA account. Course I could be wrong, eitherway I hope it's fixed. Now I keep getting an error I've tried too many times.

DId you read the OP?

The OP says nothing about accesibility of the free copy of ME2. EADM requires that you have an EA account and logged in to operate. It is extremely unclear whether the code will work outside the account it was registered in.

See, unlike Steam, there's no "gift" option anywhere. I have two copies of Dragon Age Origins but I cannot legally give a copy away. Why? Because this is EA. EA does not want us reselling its games. EA does not even want us giving it away for free. EA wants money. You think this "celebration" is coming purly out of the kind hearts of EA? I doubt it.

It's a simple question, with a simple yes or no answer. The lack of answer demonstrates their lack of sincerity, especially when another, less urgent question (that is already answered in the FAQs) has been answerred.

We've all read the OP, and we've all read the ME2Offer FAQ, and nowhere does it mention anything about gifting codes. Honestly, with as long as ME2 has been out, and as many units have been sold, you'd think that would be one of the first things they'd consider when making a promotion like this. "Oh gee, millions of people have already bought ME2, maybe we ought to inform them that they have the opportunity (or not) to gift their 'free ME2' code, since we don't have an alternate goody lined up for this promo."

I mean, I don't mean to hate or anything. I'm simply saying that with the hundreds of thousands of copies PRE-SOLD (that's copies bought BEFORE THE RELEASE DATE) and sold AT LAUNCH, there's a good chance that the majority of users won't benefit from this promo.

You know this is rather clever in a cruel economic sense. No matter who it is who ends up receiving these copies chances are a percentage will at least buy the Cerberus Network. There are certainly some souls out there who would get a game free then pay the purchase price in DLC. In the words of Athenril, because I love her smooth line delivery: "Good job [Bioware]."

Thanks BioWare/EA you guys rock. Have ME2 on my 360 and have been wanting to try ME2 with PC mods.
