Confirmed - the ME2 code does work on a different EA account to the one you own DAII on.
Thank you EA/Bioware!

Absolutely ridiculous.
The most you should feel really is apathy. You haven't received or lost anything, and your situation hasn't changed at all since yesterday before this giveaway was announced.
You only feel that it is "unfair" because other people are being given a free game and you are not. The mere knowledge of someone elses situation doesn't change your own, and since you never actually paid for the benefit you are not entitled to expect it just because others have been given it.
Anyway, I also have absolutely no use for this giveaway either, but I recognise the benefit for others in it and I am happy for them and don't feel that it is at all "unfair."
Definitely concur with you Ronin. I am not happy about DA2 and the direction, blah blah blah. BUT I do appreciate that Bioware is doing something nice for their fans. And I own ME2 Collectors edition for the PC.
Nice to know you are thinking of us, and I'm happy some folks who never tried ME2 can try the game!
And you're an idiot.
Pffft. Having read your other post on this thread it becomes immediatley apparent who the idiot is. If you are receiving as you put it, 75% of the game for free without the DLC which will then need to be paid for, you are still receiving something for free and are not obligated to buy any of the additional DLC. Further you still have the other option to buy the retail game with the added DLC as you would have before the giveaway was even announced and spend the same amount of money as before on the "complete" game. Therefore it's not like the situation of the consumer has gotten worse.
Unless of course you are stupid enough to end up paying more in the end then you otherwise would have, which judging by your post, you probably are.
Anyway, your criticism is the height of idiocy.

I did redeem my code but it didn't pop up confirming nor did it start downloading. Help? o. O
I know there's the "it may take 72hrs." Should I contact EA now? Or wait 72hrs incase it doesn't pop up?

It is no use to me, since I already have ME2, but I can and do appreciate the gesture.
Thank you Bioware.
Errm, someone want to get the smelling salts? I think a Dev just fainted reading that....

If Bioware would like to reward it's most loyal fans, at some point, a really nice idea, that would surely be met with a reduction in the hate in these forums, and maybe even grudging thanks from even the most vocal haters, would be a release of a free DLC that replaced some of the maps of caves and buildings with new, unique ones. Just an idea, though I would be (pleasantly) surpriced to see it come to a realization.
(And yes, I do like DA2, over all, it's a good game... just some aspects could have used more development time.)

As was previously mentioned a little bone for the loyal fans that helped this company thrive would be a wise idea. The Witcher Enhanced was free to purchasers of the original, so why not do something similar? Make some DLC for DA:O free to DA:2 purchasers, or perhaps make the first DLC of DA2 free to people who had previously purchased ME2.
There is a lot you can do with this and believe me good loyalty rewards are appreciated. New fans see that treatment and it attracts them too.
Summary: Reward new fans only you get a few and you disgruntle a few current fans.
Reward loyal fans you get a happy loyal fanbase and other people see that and what to be part of it.
Its like dating, if you look like you need them you are less likely to get them, if you look like you don't need them but that they'd get great benefits from being with you then they tend to chase you instead. Think about it.

Free game, yeah right. They want the original serial number from Mass Effect 2, to activate the digital download. How many people honestly have said code, if they don't already have Mass Effect 2.
are you reading the instructions properly? they want the black emporium code you get with da2, you then recive a code for me2 which you enter into eadm to d/l it.

Hi guys - I Have DA2 but my code is'nt
working - As alot of you Guys already HAVE ME2 ill'd LOVE it if anyone
could message me there code! I'd really appreciate it! Cheers guys
which platform version(pc, ps3 or xbox) do you have? as couple of people have said they had trouble getting it to work, took several tries, so just keep trying otherwise contact ea cs.
this is pretty useless for me as I already have a collectors edition of me2 on the pc, got it when it first came out. I only have the dlc that were freee through the cerberaus network, not bought any of the other dlc so was trying to decide if I should get the ps3 as that has all the dlcs(bar the new one). buying the ps3 version or the dlcs for the pc will come out similar cost, only thing I wouldn't be able to use the me1(pc version) save.

Funny. Lately I was thinking about purchasing ME2 to give it a try, and I've allways given up as it (honestly) doesn't have much appeal to me. And then you do something nice like this... :-)

I followed the directions and while on EA Download manager it asked for the passcode and I put that in and hit next. The next screen asked for another code. So I typed in my game serial and it didn't accept it, so leaving the thing blank I hit next (I already downloaded and entered the DA2 game) So am I guessing it was asking for my game serial but since it was already in there all I had to do is leave it blank? It is downloaded now (mass effect 2) I've never played this game before...is it worth playing? I'm bad at shoot em up games. lol
