Thanks for this.  I had not yet bought ME2, because I never really got into the first game, but this gives me a reason to play them both.  Free games are awesome!

Thank you for the free game, Bioware. This is the first time I've gotten a free game since 1998, when I got a free copy of Doom with the Sega 32X system :P. So much for "Nothing is free anymore!" eh? :)

You should be able to get any DLC you got/bought for a console version of ME2 on the PC version, providing you log in using the same account details on both.

My entitlement list includes the XBox and PS3 DLC's I have on the PC, so I assume they can be moved over.

I have mass effect 2 for the xbox 360 with all the dlc, minus arrival. Would i have to buy the cerberus network code/dlc again to be able to play it on the PC? Or would it recognize that i've already have cerberus network?

An update for my situation. I just got off the phone with a EA support member and he was able to add the cerberus network code for PC to my account.

Quote from the other topic.

Interesting I might give this a try because I have registered my 360 copy of ME2 already with cerberus on EA site so I wonder if I can transfer it to PC too.

I just went to http://support.ea.co...livechat_launch and gave them my email.  Took about two minutes to xfer from my 360 to PC.

You couldn't come up with a better way to reward your loyal fans? I guess you don't want to give away DLC's, or any new content.

Yeah, giving away a GOTY that's still selling incredibly well. The AUDACITY!

:innocent:

A game released back in January that has more gameplay then DA2. Which has quite literaly already been around the block.

I've been wanting to get ME2 for the PC since I've upgraded my system, but I am unfortunately $50 into ME2 DLC for the Xbox 360 and I don't think I'd be willing to spend it again. I'll likely redeem my code regardless in case some sort of cross-platform deal for already-purchased DLC is ever offered in the future, or maybe I'll just give it to a friend.

Regardless, this is a very awesome thing to do.

I talked to EA to transfer it to the PC and they did, so I didn't have to buy anything again.

More gameplay than DA2? Good one!

Anyway, just give it to a friend and make them happy.

Wow , my opinion of EA just sky rocketed. They transfered my 360 cerberus code which I registered (code paper which lost) to my PC version one I just downloaded in about 0.5 seconds flat without any hardship or issues or trouble. Thanks for the tip CH33ZUS020 & Cirayne.

Although I already own ME2, I certainly appreciate the gesture. I might give it to my mate, try and get him in to ME. Thanks Bioware/EA. :)

Just a thought, but how about a download code for The Arrival on ME2 for those of us who have already purchased both games. I get wanting to attract more fans to ME2, what with the Arrival just released and the impending release of ME3 and think it's a cool idea, but how about something for your already established fan base. It wouldn't be the first time a company gave a way a free DLC to it's loyal fans.

Exactly my thoughts when I've received the promo e-mail this evening.

Many of us already own ME2. While I thank you, BioWare, for the gift, perhaps you could just have offered an equivalent amount of BioWare points to use in any DLC that we could like (from ME2 or from DA2), as an impresive alternative for those who already own that game (in other words, an option to choose between downloading ME2 or some DLC/s). Now that would have been cool and a truly "thank you" to your real loyal fans.

Anyways, thank you, as I know that you don't even have to gift us with ME2 in the first place, but I just wanted to share my thoughts.

I merely pointed out that there are people who enjoyed the game although he didn't.

EDIT: And i do disagree with him for that matter.

I already own Mass Effect 2 as well, but that doesn't mean we should be upset just because they're offering it. Since when do people get irritated at the offer of free things? You are all being extremely ungrateful. Sure, a patch would have been nice, but to get angry at Bioware for offering a free game is rather ridiculous, no?

No, you're insinuating hes somehow inferior for not enjoying a game others somehow do. God ****ing forbid such a thing ever happen.

I am very happy. For a Goth lady, anyway.

Exhist? What?

Busted? Is this a conspiracy?

So let's all be happy & celebrate! The fanboys, the fangals, the golden middle folks and the haters and the trolls! ;);););)

Its a nice offer, but if they wanted to really "reward" loyal fans (most of which probably already have ME2) they'd offer up the first significant DLC for DA2 free to those people who bought DA2 early, like in March or April.
