Most loyal fans already have ME2... Oh wait, guess which audience they are targeting
the loyal fans of DA2? Or maybe CoD?

So hes wrong because you liked it? What?
I don't think that anyone who enjoyed the game is wrong.
Taking it to extremes...it's wrong, like saying "This is the worst game ever" or "A freaking masterpiece".
Though it's not the case here.

I already own Mass Effect 2 as well, but that doesn't mean we should be upset just because they're offering it. Since when do people get irritated at the offer of free things? You are all being extremely ungrateful. Sure, a patch would have been nice, but to get angry at Bioware for offering a free game is rather ridiculous, no?
It's target is the loyal fans. They most likely already own Mass Effect 2. Which makes this whole deal insignificant unless you're going to give it to a friend.

I realize this, and perhaps this could have been done more tactfully, but the gesture is ultimately still one of good will.

Argh, celebrated too early. I *still* have to buy the Network for like... 1200 points. :/
You don't you just transfer from whichever format bought originally for to the PC version by speaking to EA. Unless never had it to begin with in wich case was optional extra have to pay for but the game itself is free not the DLC, the DLC is free too if have registered any version of the cerberus network previously and transfer it.

You are actually ****ing over your PC community even more with this "offer." Not only did you dumb down a game made for PC, DA:O, and release DA2. But now console things that already own ME2 can have their Cerberus network code transferred to their PC copy?
So if I give it to a friend, he will have to pay money to get that same thing.
Awesome, good job Bioware at giving a big _I_ do your PC player base.

I thought the network came for free with all new copies... are they giving out used copies?

Don't see how it's a middle finger job if they (your friend) gets free version of ME2 full game and not Game+DLC (unless has already registered a cerberus code). That's kind of a cake>eat it>give more cake demand.
And do not call console players "things", I hope was typo on your part because a lot of console players like myself are also PC players.

As a owner of a PS3 and a notebook i would like to be appreciated as a loyal customer, too.
EA please reconsider the way you treat and discriminate console owners.

That EA Download manager is busted: it keeps telling me to check my internet connection. Clearly my connection is just fine. Guess I'll be missing out on this one.
Nah I think it's just so many people on masse are downloading it right now that network is running slow or struggling, give it few minutes or hour and will probably be fine.

As long as EA/Bioware isn't giving away mass effect 2 for the consoles as well, their attempt to appeace the rage of disappointed dragon age fans isn't going to succeed..
I highly doubt that they are doing this to appease anyone.

It's actually pretty wonderful. My little sister finally gets her ME2 copy (She isn't well off financially) and I'm happy for her. She's been wanting that game for a while and Bioware made it possible for me to surprise her. For that I'm very grateful.
