I just finished with my Archer and all I've got to input in this thread is:

-Act 3 buy 'Absolution'. (I prefer Absolution over the bow you get from the High Dragon because it has a Rune Slot. True the bow from High Dragon does more damage, but if you put the Primeval Lyrium Rune (37% Attack Speed bonus) into the Absolution, it is a complete monster)

-Another item you should look to buy is the ring from the Nexus Golem in Sundermount. I think it's called 'The Ring of Etched Twins' but I'm not so sure on that, but it caters to a Rogues strengths very well.

-Other items you should look to equip are of course the Champion armor set, look to put a Rune of Valiance on the armor piece, what you do with the other slots are your choice. As for the other items, I guess you can aim to get pieces that increase health, or crit damage and crit chance.

-Specializations, I chose Assassin and Duelist. I chose Duelist because I didn't have any trouble surviving at the rate of speed I killed mobs with. Parry and Throw the Gauntlet are a Godsend. Duelist also has passives that increase Def and Attack by 20%. Vendetta is cool as well. The Assassin skill tree is a must.

-Also, in the Specialist skill tree make sure to get the Speed ability and it's speed upgrade and also the passive upgrade.

-Have Anders in your party to cast buffs like Heroic Aura and most importantly HASTE. When every fight starts make sure you have Pinpoint Strikes activated and then have Anders cast Haste, and with you Absolution (37% Attack Speed bonus along with the speed bonus you have when you activate 'Speed' from Specialist tree) you'll completely destroy enemies from large distances in a matter of seconds (Which is why I wasn't too worried about survival. Ultimately your tank will run into the chaos whilst you pick off any/all the enemies from a distance unscathed)

-Who you have on your party is up to you. I chose to run with Fenris (Staggers enemies more often than Aveline) and Varric(Coolest character in the game IMO)/or/Merrill(For effieciency against bosses really. Petrify and Horror were helpful). Even though I hate him, Anders' Haste ability was the focal point of my build.
