To qualify and get your Mass Effect 2 PC download code, please follow these steps before April 30, 2011 at 11:59pm PDT:

• Activate the Online Pass content that came with your copy of Dragon Age II (The Black Emporium)
• Start the game and log in using your EA Account or create a new EA Account
• Visit http://social.bioware.com/me2offer and log in with that EA Account
• Enter your Online Pass code and click “Submit”.  You will then be provided the code for Mass Effect 2.
• Open the EA Download Manager and enter the code to commence download (if you don’t have the EA Download Manager installed, it can be found HERE)

Well, that's pretty neat... BUT!

Don't get me wrong, now: I'm not being or trying to be ungrateful, but this REALLY has this strange feeling to it. Both "Buy DA2 now!" to sell DA2 and this "Here's a free ME2 for our fans, please love us again/more" feeling. Just might be me, though.

I was going to wait for the Ultimate Edition for ME2, but this offer means I have it now I will still have to decide whether it is worthwhile to buy the DLC or whether the Ultimate will be cheaper.

Yeah this... WHERE is the product code.  Is it sent to us by email? Or am I just supposed to magically know it?

Is it the same passcode as the black emporium?

Quick question: (it's not really covered in the FAQ) Once the Online Code has been redeemed and the game is available for download through EA Download Manager, does it STAY there? I have an ancient beast of a PC, and I obviously want to take advantage of this offer. Point being, after I redeem the code, can I download at a later date? Can I download whatever the installation file is and then transfer it to a new PC? How does this work...?

The PC version of Mass Effect 2 is the one that is being offered. There is no mention anywhere that this is only for people who purchased the PC version of Dragon Age 2.

Did you buy it digitaly? if you did, go to your receipt and you'll see a "online pass" code

Yeah same here. I ended up regreting purchasing DA2 full price, but giving a friend the gift of mass effect will make it a bit better
