I,for one, think its a pretty nice promo,so thank you Bio.

Even if a lot of DA2 folks here on the forums have ME2 already I'd wager out of the 1million+ da2 purchases there are many who dont.

Wow... just wow...

Heh,give a man a bag of gold and he'll complain its too heavy :).

Actioly nothing is free. You have to earn even punch in a face:). So in this situation to get ME2, you have to buy DA2. It's just an addition to DA2, because Bioware realized DA2 is not worth 60 bucks (or how much its cost is now).

It would have been the biggest miracle in gaming Industry if DA2 could have reached 1 Million mark of sales with $60 price level ... but it didnt happen and EA/Bioware knew it, however they wouldn't have expected such a huge back slash...

I like what you're doing with this BioWare...even though you're calling the real reason sugar when it's sand.

It's an acknowledgement of sorts. An admission without saying as much. I now have three copies of ME2, yay for me! But the happiest part of this is you've come off of the Nile river..which bodes well for future games.

Too bad they didn't give us options on that. I already have it on the PC but if they for example gave us the option to get the core game or the DLC. I could still benefit from this rare occasion.

Oh well, just something to keep in mind for the future.

Too true,no such thing as free in this world.Perhaps an unexpected increase in return of investment would be more accurate then ;).

I would have been impressed if they came out and said... We are working on a huge update for the game that will be 100% free that will add unique areas, more quests, better story & story flow, fixing most of the issues, removing the roof ninjas, making a real ending to the game, more areas, a entire act to explain more things, fix most of the lore issues and stuff, balance, add in none combat stuff and factors, customizable companions, 100's of bug fixes.

But this? I cant help but laugh.
Lets hope DA2 dont every break 2m mark in its life time. There are better games out there that dont sell as much as this **** simply because it dont have a large name.

I can't help but laugh at what would have impressed you.

You're going to be unimpressed for a long, long time.

For those who bought DA2 unaware of this offer (essentially everyone) the cost of DA2 is a sunk cost; it's irrelevant.

On that basis, while ME2 isn't free (opportunity cost of time used to redeem the code and the costs of bandwidth), it's pretty damn close.

Honestly, are you just trying to be the worst possible person you can?

Maybe... maybe not. It dont change the fact that DA2 is a halfassed game from the devs made get a quick cash in from the original fans from DAO and they even tried to expand their fan base but failed so hard that they will be lucky to get 2m sales even with this.

It also "don't change the fact" that it's incredibly petty to bring your whining into this thread.

Surely, surely, you have better things to do with your life. I hope so, for your sake.

Should I be also sure that you have better things to do in life than respond to the whining posts ( thats your opinion ) on this forum ...

No, you shouldn't assume that. I'm quite happy.

Someone comes into a thread where BioWare is giving away free copies of ME2 as a bonus to those who have purchased DA2 recently, and starts complaining about the quality of DA2, and I'm quite willing to take a minute and call them on it. It's pathetic, frankly. If you want to complain about DA2, there's a million other forum topics better suited for it.

Ok, I get it that this is the best way of utilizing your time in Life , but hey then others also have the right to decide which is their best utilization of time in their life too..... isnt that fair ?

And , just for your information I am not whining about DA2's quality here, I am actually stating that it is a very smart strategic move from EA/Bioware...  and yeah I do agree that there are plenty of other forums where I can honestly state my opinion about DA2's quality

Sure. I'm not saying you can't complain about DA2. By all means, have at it. I just think this thead is a very poor place to do it.

Is the download inmediate? I redeemed my code at EA download manager and nothing happens, now I try again and it says "this code is already in use"

I think this free download for PC users is a nice freebie, even though I can't use it since I'm on the consoles only. Oh wait, am I supposed to be upset because I paid full price for Mass Effect 2 on both the XBox 360 and the PlayStation 3, and now people are getting it for free on the PC? Darn, I forgot to get upset. Maybe I'll remember to later, I'll write myself a reminder note.

And I still like Dragon Age 2, even though "hardcore RPG fans" seem to hate it. So BioWare, if you're listening, don't be too despondent, not everyone hates your games. Though it does seem that everyone who hates the games has nothing better to do than prattle on endlessly on the BioWare boards about how much they hate them and why, repeatedly, at length, and in minute detail. The people who like your games are too busy PLAYING them to offset the chorus of naysayers.

Did you check the games tab (the 1st tab right next to EA logo on top left corner)? The game goes there without any further notice after accepting the code.

Yay! We tricked the hell out of our fanbase and released a mediocre game and made lots of money, go us!

Pass, and pass on any DA sequels. I'll rent next time.

This isn't about a weighing of opinions. This topic is about the offer of a free copy of ME2 for DA2 owners. "DA2 SUCKS" does not follow from that. This is a violation of logical progression, not just my "opinion".

So yes, I certainly question someone's use of time when they apparently have to drag their grievances into every corner of the forum. You're right, I can't stop someone from proving John Gabriel's Greater Internet Dickwad Theory. But neither can you stop me from pointing that out, either. No apologies, sorry (huh... inadvertent oxymoron).

It's kind of ridiculous how much I love this post!
