Plain daytime robbery for XBOX 'fans'.

How so? This offer is open to PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 users who purchase or have purchased Dragon Age II. Yes, it is for a free PC edition, but it is open to everyone. :)

Can the code be gifted, or is it tied to the account that has the Black Emporium? Because I already have ME2 on this account.

I'd like to know this as well.

Yeah same here. I ended up regreting purchasing DA2 full price, but giving a friend the gift of mass effect will make it a bit better

The code I've gotten doesn't seem to be tied to my account, so I'm thinking yes. Just give it to someone else, have them get the EA Download Manager and input the code.

I already got ME2 for the PS3, but I guess I'll give the PC version a try to see how different it is.

That is assuming this promotion works for people who bought the console version of DA2.

Is it available even if the DA2 copy is for consoles? It doesn't really touch on that.

Its for the PC only.

The PC version of Mass Effect 2 is the one that is being offered. There is no mention anywhere that this is only for people who purchased the PC version of Dragon Age 2.

First line of the little legal text at the bottom of the Offer page

*Offer expires April 30th, 2011. Code expires june 30, 2011. Good only
for new purchases of "Dragon Age™ II for PC, Playstation 3 or Xbox 360"
("Product").
Mass Effect™ 2 is only available as a download from the
EA store and only for the PC.

Quick question: (it's not really covered in the FAQ) Once the Online Code has been redeemed and the game is available for download through EA Download Manager, does it STAY there? I have an ancient beast of a PC, and I obviously want to take advantage of this offer. Point being, after I redeem the code, can I download at a later date?

I would like to know this as well.

When I first bought ME2 (on release date), it was an EA store download. I just checked, it's still here, I can redownload. But I still stored it on a external disc, because who knows ^^

Anyway, it should'nt be a problem.

urgh!!! Curses!!! I already have a copy of ME2 for the PC!!! I feel slightly duped....on that note however I think it is great that Bioware is recognizing their fans. It either shows two things. One, Bioware realized the mediocrity of DA2 (not a bad game, just not up to Bioware Quality imo) and decided to apologize by offering their best game they have created recently. Or they are just really nice people.........Perhaps it is a mix?

Thanks, but no thanks, Bioware. You know what I REALLY would have liked? To not have DA2 be a turd. As it stands I definitely won't be blindy preordering the next DA title before hearing more on it or supporting DA2 any further by buying DLC for it.

I just did the process, which also answered my question. I'll find someone to offer the extra copy.

It's an interesting promotion. Now, how about an enhanced edition of your latest Dragon Age? =)

It's funny that I tried to swap in Dragon Age 2 the other day (I couldn't because I had the PC version). Now I get a game for free. Thanks Bioware.

Not loyal enough apparently. Why give you some free dlc or points if you already own all Bioware games, better give you a game that has sold all that it will ever do when the sequel is soon to come and there is all these DLC you'll want as well, plus its never too late to check all the goodies in the EADM *wink* *wink*

Meh, I'm outta here before I run out of cynicism. I guess one good game for free is better than nothing.

I don't understand this move.
As a 'loyal fan' I already have ME2, and I'm guessing most of the people here have the game as well, in its three versions.
So...what's the point of giving a "free" ME2 copy? Increase the sales of DA2 with the promise of a free, better game?

Reminds me of the offers big stores and retailers make when something is not selling well.
"Buy this one and we'll give you something nice".

How about a choice of Mass Effect 1, Mass Effect 2, or Dragon Age:Origins? Or Beta invite to TOR?
