Quick question: (it's not really covered in the FAQ) Once the Online Code has been redeemed and the game is available for download through EA Download Manager, does it STAY there? I have an ancient beast of a PC, and I obviously want to take advantage of this offer. Point being, after I redeem the code, can I download at a later date?

I would like to know this as well.

Yes. EADM offers that capability. As a matter of fact I have my BioWare/EA collection in the EADM which I purchased from different distributors. There's no time limit to download anymore, as my 2008 copy of Mass Effect can attest. :)

"Hey guys! Please buy our sub-par game! We'll give you this good game as a reward! Never mind that you could just skip the sub-par game and buy the good game for less! Metacritic scores? Dropping sales figures? Completely wrecked expectations? Never mind that, you could get a free SHINY and ZOMG if you buy this game that's not worth the price!"

I don't understand this move.
As a 'loyal fan' I already have ME2, and I'm guessing most of the people here have the game as well, in its three versions.
So...what's the point of giving a "free" ME2 copy? Increase the sales of DA2 with the promise of a free, better game?

Give it to someone you know and possibly turn them into a BioWare fan.

Same here, and now it's giving me an error saying I've made too many attempts and have to try again later.

Jesus. Only gamers can find something to complain about in Bioware giving away a free AAA title.

Those words don't mean what you think they do.

I doubt most people have the game in its 3 versions

People who have it on the 360/PS3, can try the PC version.

People who have never tried the ME series can do so now. I do know that most people on the forums have boththe DA and the ME games, but there are a lot of non-BW loyalists outside the forums who just happen to like the DA series, and now get to try ME2 for free.

While I see many people are complaining regarding this, I'd just like to take the time thank Bioware for making my day. Thank you for DA2 and thank you for ME2. I'll go play now. :)

Because CLEARLY there are no ulterior motives at work here.  It's not like they'd ever do something like phone in a sequel, right?

I would also like to thank BioWare. I may have jumped the gun a bit yesterday, but I was thinking the offer would only be available for new purchases starting today.

I already turned three people into Bioware fans, thanks to Origins.
My girlfriend didn't like it, otherwise, now they would have been four.

It's not that I want to be a ******, or complain just for the sake of complaining.
But this seems a bit suspicious to me.

Got it to work but now it's asking for a Product Code. I put in the Online Pass code and it didn't work. Put in the code I got, did not work. Tried the UPC code from DA2, did not work. What product code is the downloader looking for?

There are always ulterior motives behind marketing, which is what every promotional offer does.

But the bottom line for us is that we get something for nothing.

What does it matter if there are ulterior motives? You're still getting an excellent game for free. And this is particularly true for the people who already bought DA2 - you're getting an excellent game for free without having to actually do anything.

Would have been better if they had made a thread saying how sorry they are about how unbelievably terrible DA2 is.
