Bioware: To all our loyal fans. Here's ANOTHER copy of ME2 which most of you already probably own. *Troll face*

Somebody else mentioned this elsewhere but lets say I want to try it on PC and I don't yet own it.  This is a good deal for me.

But there's no difference between the PC version save that it is better graphics. Does ME even have a toolset? To me, DA:O for consoles is not as superior as the PC version because the PC version has a toolset. Whereas all versions of ME2 are the same apart from graphical differences.

I liked DA2 but after this charade, I'm not buying BW games on day one anymore. I'll wait for the ultimate edition of ME3 when it hits the bargain bin in 2012 - 21st of December.

This is basically to appease people who hated DA2 so they are less vocal in their hate, so basically it's a bribe.

Thanks I'll take the free ME2 but I still think DA2 is awful and I'll voice my displeasure on the forum! =D

Doh it is already working on me...

DUDE.  If I buy a car for $20,000 this year its going to be worth $10,000 five years from now.  DEAL WITH IT.

So to "celebrate" DA2 faster than DAO "success" loyal fans get a free copy of a game most of them already own.
And since we can give it away, we get the marvelous possibility of promoting ME franchise for you for free.

Clever way to boost DA2 and ME sales and attrack new costumers. Win-win situation for you I guess.

If you would excuse me, I better leave before I start projectile vomiting

Of course it's a way to boost sales and atract new costumers. What did you expect, charity or something?

Regardless of what the intentions are though, they're still giving away an amazing game for free.

I didn't expect anything.

What annoys me is the underlying concept of how Bioware is promoting itself.

Instead of creating quality games, we get a half-assed game and to cover it up they offer a totally different game that can be found in the bargain-bin for 10€

I guess I'm naïve enough to think that a quality product + word to mouth is a better way to get new costumers and boost sales...

I am obviously a more "LOYAL" fan.

Yet, it isn't registered. ;)

This reminds me...I purchased ME & ME2 from Steam and the registration key they gave doesn't allow me to register my game here. Is that a Steam thing?

You could think of this as a some sort of apology, for DA2.

Even if it is not that I will think so.

And frankly it is nice thing for them to do.

Just gift ME2 to some of your friend if you already have it.

That's odd. I have the DA series through Steam and it let me register; strange that ME2 would not.

Why do you compare a 5 years old car with physical piece to a 1 years old software?
Most DLC were not released the same day the game was released and the price did not drop to 19.99$ after a month.

I purchased DA2 also . What do i get?Seriously i`m just goofing around because the best customer always purchase and always get   !!!

It's life.

Why the heck everyone is complaining ? ME 2 is a decent game in its own terms... I have played ME2 and I am playing ME1 .... if you are getting it free then why this anger ?

That is weird. I have ME2, DA:O, Awakening and DA2; all of them in Steam and all of them registered here.

My ME1+2 from Steam registered here just fine, I just had to do the right-click "View Game CD Key" thing in the Steam UI.

I'm not complaining, it just seems an odd way to promote it.

Oh yes, I quite often see where car dealers are giving away an undriven 2010 car with the purchase of a new 2011 car.

I personally think this is a ridiculous marketing strategy. Rather than presenting it as what it is - a way to make people buy DA2 - they've presented it as a 'gift' to loyal fans. Thank you - loyal fans! Thank you for supporting us and buying our games! As a reward, we're going to give a you a game that you already have unless you're NOT a loyal fan, hence making this entire promotion pointless!

Analogy.  Google it.

(Even if it is a terrible analogy)

As I said, I'd be more impressed if I could get a free download of Arrival.

I can see it as a sort of an apology, but knowing EA past and seeing what happened with DA2 is unsettling...

I guess I will discuss it with my pillow and try to look at it in a different light tomorrow...
