Hi guys, I got the code for a free ME2 off of a friend, it applied to EADM without issue and I have downloaded and installed, but I cannot access the cerberus network, which apparently I should have access to, I put in the code that EADM gives me under licenses, the first time the page just refreshed and the second time it said "Code in Use" but I still have to access, the redeem page on this website does not recognise it. Can anyone help?

Well, the post right above yours mentioned how the Cerberus Network content doesn't transfer over if you gift the game to someone else. That's my understanding of it, but you could try asking EA Support.

Hey they gave a game basically free, so it can still be a positive thing. Plus with ME2 on the PC, you can download mods, so that could be fun.

That's a bit disappointing, as I was planning on gifting my code to someone else. Well, "a bit disappointing" or not, a gift is still a gift. And Zaaed isn't strictly necessary to enjoy the game, either. ^^

You do realize you can gift the game to a friend, right? Or are you not a "people person"? ^^

^ I don't give a damn. I paid good money for this, and now they're just throwing it at people.

And? You got to play it years before those other people.

^And? If I had chosen to buy the 360 version I'd have 2 copies by now. But no, Bioware chose only to give the PC VERSION out for free. I'd wouldn't be complaining if people could choose which platform they could get it on. I'd like a free copy on PS3, oh yeah, I can't, so all the people who have bought ME2 and DA2 on pc have basically been ripped off, because now the console players are having the pc version thrown at them, whereas previously PC players are just given the finger.

Sales and promotions should never be allowed! EVER! C'mon, ME2's been out for over a year. It's a whopping $15 new on PC and $20 on XBox. This is cool for people who don't have it, but far from life-crushing for those who already do.

How did DA2 even sell this much...

It probably didnt, but promotions dont appeal very well when they say:

Buy Dragon Age 2 and we will make it up to you by giving you another game free!! Please put the cost of Dragon Age 2 back into black ink, we are sorry we gave you a pile of crap but please dont hurt our pocket-books becouse of this, please.

Telling people how amazing your doing is a marketing stratagy... even if your doing bad, you tell people your doing great and act like they are missing out buy not getting in on whatever flop your pushing.

Try this explination on Wikipedia.[smilie]../../../../images/forum/emoticons/wizard.png[/smilie]

Besides, most of those sales were probably prepaid, becouse people expected to get more of what they got in the first game, and then they didnt....and people got wise to this whole "streamlining" thing aka "dumbing down."

So this is why lots of people Iv talked to are not sure if they will prepay ME3, cus who knows what direction they will flip flop in this time. Even if you loved ME2 way more than ME1, can you honestly believe they absolutly wont half-as* every thing they can and cut every corner possible? Bioware has tipped its hand, they are turrning into a grindhouse with EA calling the shots. Pure corperate mentality, prioraty 1. maximize profits, prioraty 2. minimize cost, all at the minimum effort to achive those prioraties.

Brilliant PR move ofcourse, now that actual players have played the game and bad reviews have started flooding out and sales probably have started taking a dive, they attach ME2 to DA2- this way more people will buy Dragon Age 2- and they get Mass Effect 2 (which will essentially serve as promotion material for Mass Effect 3).

If you all really want some kind of celebration for selling so many copies of DA2, bring the Recon Operations Pack to the 360 and PC platforms, I guarantee people will buy it, including me.
