Sony of America and Sony of Europe are actually two different companies.

Edit more specficially: Sony Computer Entertainment of America and Sony Computer Entertainment of Europe and Sony Computer Entertainment of Japan are all seperate corporate entities.

@Porter98 It is probably just that reason which like I said is a load of bull since every one else is dealing with the same problem and still found time to approve of the damn thing.

I take solace that I am not the only one. Since the download of that latest patch. Certain decisions carried over from the Genesis comic are somehow glitched. I suppose I don't need to repeat considering most have already specified the problems. However, just to reiterate:

Kaiden and Ash- no matter who I decide to save, the other is acknowledged as saved. What's even weirder, is that you can ask about Anderson about both in the Presidium and he responds as if either are alive.

The Council and the Destiny Ascension- I chose to save the Council, but certain shopkeeps (Rodan Expeditions), VIs and other NPCs always acknowledge the council as dead despite my meeting with them in the Prisidium with Anderson. It's crazy. Bailey acknowledges them as alive and asserts they want to meet with me but the Avina VI tells me to proceed with caution at the Citadel because humans are frowned upon for letting the council die.

Anderson/Udina- The most convoluted of all. Anderson acknowledges that he is the council representative and then acknowledges himself as Udina's advisor upon's Udina's appearance. Then acknowledges himself as Council representative upon Udina's departure.

I suppose most don't consider these glitches a big deal, but to me they are. I really like story-driven games and a game that has outcomes depending on the player's decision makes me even more immersed. I've been looking over the forums and besides a few suggestions to reinstall the data, there hasn't been a surefire method way of rectifying this. I hope some solution is presented whether it's via another patch or something. Mass Effect 3 is on the way and I prefer the decisions I made to be glitch free once I do that carry-over.

Dante you pretty much covered all the problems. The thing is people fear is that once you get to a certain point, in this case Horizon, is where glitch hits hardest showing the opposite person you chose to save, if you chose Ash originally then Kaiden would be there instead due to the glitch. People are afraid that these bugs would stick to their saves hence alot of us U.S. players not even touching the game until the patch is released. However, if you have games that were past this point before the bug was apparent then you should be fine. It is the new games that people, including myself, are complaining about the bug being a problem.

Haha, researching the glitch helped me find this forum. I'm glad it's a real problem that is being addressed. I can't wait for the patch to be approved for North America.

FYI so nobody repeats what I just did... got tired of waiting for the patch, so I figured I would just delete the existing patch and DLC and play v 1.0 of the game. Unfortunately, without the Cerberus pack there is no Genesis comic at all.... the game assumes that you let the Council die and who knows what else. And, with PSN down there is currently no way to reacquire the Cerberus pack. So now I'm waiting for the patch AND PSN... lovely.

With v 1.0 the problem is that newgame+ didnt correctly import your previous weapon, and also freeze that corrupt save data at shadowbroker

Agreed.  And they've caused me more problems than just that.  2.2 out of 75 million people have now supposedly had ALL of their CC information stolen from the PSN.  At least, that's what the un-verified scuttlebutt is from cnet and other sources.

I want nothing more than to see those hackers in cuffs and leg irons and put away for 30 years.

I played through ME1 just a week ago, I played through as a soldier, then I reminded myself how much infiltraitors sucked in ME1 by trying to play as one. They were SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better in ME2.

At least sony is giving us free ps plus for a month (current subscirbers get an extra month added on) and some free games once everything is up and running again which is suppose to be tuesday may 3rd. So hopefully the patch will get approved shortly after that if not that same day.

1.03 I think is the patch we all got in early april. It fix'd an achievment bug concerning insanity playthroughs and a few other issues. Oddly it didn't address the sound bugs that annoys everyone thats been around since before this entire mess began. 1.04 is the Genisis fix patch which only EU got. I firmly believe USA will not get it till PSN is up and running again. Frustratinly enough 1.04 doesn't do anything for the sound bug either from I hear. Hope that helps a little I will now go and beat my head against a sturdy wall. Also everyone keep an I on your personal info, the rumors I here about CC information from PSN being sold off is scary.

Why dit they get an extra patch or something? Why is not everyone on 1.03?

Maybe a stupid question, but i would like to know =)

USA will get the gensis fix in the 1.03 patch where as europe got it in 1.04. Jeese explained this to me in a different post how depending on the region you live in, the patch number is different but that everyone has the same thing if you have the latest patch downloaded and installed.

Wow I kinda feel bad because I posted a thread asking if this would work and someone convinced me not to.

So I've been able to play through the game once since the patch was released here, and it's still not out in the rest of the world? It seems that SCEE is good at something.
I just wanted to say that everything worked fine. It was nice to be able to play through the game choosing to save the council for once. I hadn't done that before so I had to wait for the patch.
Thanks Bioware for fixing this quickly, and thanks Jesse for keeping us updated!

Hey, I tried posting in another thread but it seems im more likely to get an answer here. I live in the UK but im not being prompted to download the 1.04 patch, does anyone know why this is?

The strange thing there are no patch notes yet of what is fixed (apart from genesis glitch)
