so this does not affect current playthroughs? i am towards the end of a vanguard and in middle of a engineer playthrough. these are the last classes i need to have all 6 completed. i plan on importing them all to ME3. i have not updated to the new patch yet and i will not if it messes up the story. this is the most important thing in the game.

I'm getting this too! Hope BioWare can fix it soon, no ME2 for me today then :(

Right now, I'm running without the 1.02 patch (I went and deleted the DLC/patch data and then redownloaded all the DLC, and refused the patch when it was offered.... it still allows you to play the game, despite the "You must download this to sign in" notice the patching notice says). Things are running fine despite a few discrepancies (such as the picture on shepard's desk being that of the one sacrificed, not of the one romanced).

So for those just getting the game, just refuse the 1.02 patch and play to your heart's content. And wait till that patch notice says "1.03" and we confirm here that the story is still not messed up till you get it. I haven't been able to try Arrival with the game unpatched... not yet, and it may have some hiccups, as Arrival was released after 1.01 was launched, so we'll see how that goes.

But other than that, things are running quite well. I've only had one game freeze, and it was not entirely unexpected. Overall, a very positive experience without the patches.

The only thing that would suck by not using the newest patch is the fact that you still don't get your weapons from your previous playthroughs.

I'm having the same problems. I just started a new game (not a NG+) and noticed that a lot of the game's dialog was inconsistent with the choices I made in the interactive comic book. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one with this issue...(whew) but I really hope there's a fix for this soon.

You can still play it just dont install any of the new patches and stop playing every few hours to avoid the save corruption glitch until they release a new patch fixing the gensis and hopefully audio lag glitchs. Or you could play it without the new patchs and complete the genesis comic and then you could save and install the patches and your choices should still come out right. It only affects new games so if you play through genesis without the new patch first it should work fine.

I have this same problem, but it's good to see Bioware is on top of it already. So far the only thing I've noticed out of my Genesis choices is that Ashley dies despite my choice to save her. I haven't gone far enough into my new character to see if my other choices are wrong as I don't wanna do all that playing, only to ultimately start over and get it the way I want...

Ditto, just bought the game, have tried 3 times but the game doesn't seem to record my choices from the Genesis comic correctly.... all DLC and latest patch are installed

I played a little more before deleting my shepard and found out that my choice to save the council did work, sort of. I could talk to them, and news agencies report that the Destiny Ascension has completed it's 20 colony victory cruise, but NPCs talk to me as though I let them die.

Councilor Anderson (my choice) tells me that both Ashley and Kaidan are alive, and on a top secret mission, meanwhile the news reports that the Kaidan Alenko scholarship fund has been set up in memorial, lmao.

Also, after speaking to the Council and Udina arrives, as he and Anderson speak to each other and Shepard, I noticed that both men spoke as though they were the appointed councilor!

"Blasted scavengers, welcome to Omega, Shepard"

"You know who I am?"

"Of course, we offered you the 1.02 patch as soon as you entered the Terminus Systems. Your not as subtle as you think"

...

"Apply the patch, now!"

I've stumpled upon a few other glitches recently. They are not related to genesis (as far as I can tell) and have appeared in a playthrough that was started before the patch, but only showed up after the patch was installed. It seems better to report it in an existing thread about glitches than to start a new one.

- When arriving to the citadel and passing through the room where Shepard was scanned (the first time), the game stops for a few seconds and the "sorry for the inconvenience"-line is repeaded at least twice. This happens every time I pass through that room. (Not game breaking in any way, just wanted to mention it).

- Solving the assignment involving the fake IDs without handing over the fake IDs seems impossible. Asking who I should talk to doesn't update the quest and theres no option to mention it when talking to C-sec customs. Tried this both before and after acquiring the fake IDs.

I haven't had these problems before the patch so maybe they can be of help when trying to figure out what has gone wrong.

The 'sorry for the inconvenience' thing has happened to me ever since I got the game (WAY before the latest patch). I'm pretty sure it's just a way for the game to load all the stuff on the Citadel. In fact, if you wait in the corridor for a few seconds before opening the door, the Turian usually only needs to say it once before the door opens, so I wouldn't really class that as a glitch. Not sure about the fake ID thing though. Usually, you should be able to either just give the IDs to the Asari after you speak to them for the first time or convince the C-sec officer to let them leave.

I really hope this is fixed ASAP as it completely defeats the core aspect of the game which is MAKING CHOICES and makes the Genesis comic completely USELESS...

If you're a first-time player (as I was 2 days ago) then so long as you make sure that you don't download the DLC it does work fine.

Hey Folks,

We've found the issue, it affects only the Ash/Kaiden choice and the Council choice. The resolution we're currently testing fixes your save retroactively and new games. Were going to send the fix to Sony as soon as we've validated the fix and make sure that it doesn't have a knock on effect on anything else.

Good to here...it's nice to know that BioWare is still paying attention to potential technical issues.

Thanks for the update. Now lets hope the fix works and doesn't create new problems. I am receiving my copy tomorrow but I'll wait till the fix is released before even touching it.
