Hey Folks -

Just an update - I heard from the external team just now, unless something blows up in the next few hours, we'll be sending the "Late April Patch" over to Sony tomorrow morning.

That means that as soon as Sony approves the patch it'll be on PSN for release. Unfortunately I have no control over how long Sony takes but given the nature of the patch I doubt it would take too too long.

-Jess

EXCELLENT! Now C'mon Sony, get that patch through to use quickly!

Glad I found this thread... I started a NG (third playthrough but not NG+, wanted to try an assault sentinel), picked a female Shepard, picked Kaidan over Liara, then sacrificed him on Virmire in the comic. Alas, I still somehow "gave into him" later in the comic, then both he and Ash showed up in the initial Horizon cutscene, and he was the one I met after beating the Praetorian.

I thought I was going crazy or had a serious bug. Good to know this will likely be fixed, although I'm a bit miffed I missed out on seeing what would happen with meeting Ash on Horizon as a female Shepard. Oh well. Kind of awesome how good Bioware is about keeping in contact and getting this stuff taken care of.

I've just bought this game for Ps3. (Should have researched any bugs BEFORE purchasing. Another one of my many f*** ups.)

Scared to put the disc in.

What I've grasped from reading other threads is that I should play unpatched and not under any circumstances download arrival. Oh, and restart my game every so often to reduce the risk of save corruption.

Wish me luck! :bandit:

Just update it to the latest version now. This new patch will correct the Genesis issues without you having to start a new game. Also, Arrival has nothing to do with this.

The newest patch is up, now?

I've read about some people only experiencing the genesis glitch after downloading arrival.

Is it possible you could give us a changelog of all the fixes made with this patch?

Really to be honest, the Genesis issue should be well secondary to the audio cutting off at the end of conversations. This should be the top priority, unless Bioware wants us to just ignore the story in which case I'd like an option to permanently skip all conversation. Of course I am joking here but in a story driven game you'd think a fix to dialogue problems would be top priority.

+1

well, to clarify, I think sorting out the Genesis glitch should have taken to priority (see earlier statement of panic revolving Udina's job hopping) But the voice clipping thing is a big problem. while we're on the topic, the lack of sound sync in cutscenes on PS3 is an issue as well...

Maybe not this issue. But, I heard about the final romance scenes not playing anymore after downloading arrival. It seems instead of playing the cutscene, the screen goes black, and stays that way until you hit X, which skips to the conversation that takes place afterwards. A bunch of people have complained about it on gamefaqs.com, but only 1 topic/ 2 posts here.

Ooh! While you're still here, any chance we could get a detailed list on what the new patch ammends?

It's with Sony so I don;t imagine more then a few days now. But unfortunately I can't give an actual ETA as they don't have a 'Service Level Agreement' for patch certification as far as I understand.

And this patch only fixes the Genesis issues as we wanted to get it out FAST.

Hehe sorry about that and THANKS for the update!

By the way could you please let us know whether or not you plan to look into the out of sync issue. It is serious issue as important conversations get cut off most of the time/almost 3 sec delay in certain scenes and it really ruins the overall feel of the game.

The reason I am posting about this issue for the 4th time now is because I want to replay the game over and over. Its just that good and it is frustrating not being able to experience such a quality game the way its meant to be

I hope we hear from you on this issue. THANKS!

Personally, the audio problems aren't as big as an issue as long as you play with subtitles on.
