My mind has been blown twice in one thread. Probably only missed hearing about that because I'm not a PC player. Absolutely barmy.

I bet the people who put a beard on Varric are the same people who complain about DA's Dwarves not having Scottish accents. /facepalm.

while I dont use any of these mods [ I have armor retext mod tho], I respect the work the modders have done on them, and also respect others' choices to use them. Differences of choices make the world a wonderful place. Each to his own.

White Isabela looks fine. New Varric looks kind of cool but certainly not the guy we know and love.

Okay, Varric-with-a-beard-sans-chest-hair is OOC, but mostly just annoying to me. Isabela with pants is also a little strange, but understandable.

But...making her WHITE? That's just...wrong. There's already plenty of white characters in the game. You don't need to transform the characters that aren't into white characters, too.

No, Isabela is not "white" in the original game. I'm kind of tired of people saying that she was always "meant to be white" or  was "clearly a red-head" so I'm going to set the record straight. Isabela was always, always conceived as a dark-skinned, Rivaini woman.

I made the face for her in Origins myself, because Craig (who was implementing her) had a bunch of other stuff to do and I volunteered. Important characters have their heads reviewed and tweaked to make sure they're as close to perfect as possible. Characters that don't have a huge role to play do not usually get this privilege. So Origins Isabela shipped pretty much the way I made her. I gave her the second darkest skintone we had available. Then I gave her brown hair, thinking it would be sun-bleached. I think the reddish cast might be from the lighting in the Pearl.

So that's the story. In DA2, she looks kind of Mediterranean. I like that.

Yes, the lighting in Pearl has orange/reddish tint to it which affects things.

Speaking of DAO and Isabela mods, this one has one which makes her look quite similar to her DAO version (the "version 2" option)

I honestly don't care what color Isabella is, so if someone thinks she looks "sexier" making her color different, then I say "whatever floats your boat". Pun intended. I mean, I still just don't care. If she's purple, it's not going to bother me in the least, in fact.

I say that, while admitting I haven't changed Isabella's looks at all in any of my games. I did, however, put pants on her. Sorry, but I am just not interested in seeing her fanny, don't swing that way. But other than that, nada. I think her character in the game is just outrageous gorgeous, actually.

Purple Isabela wouldn't offend me so much as white Isabela. And even that ****up wouldn't be so bad, if it wasn't for "Snow-white skinned sky-blue eyed gold-blond haired Isabela". Four letter N-word anybody anybody?

Why would anyone do that? She's not half as pretty as a white skinned blonde girl.

And even if she was white, she spends most of her time on a ship! She would be tanned! Do people think she uses a lot of sun block or something?
