Well after never having played Origins and loving DA 2, I figured I would get relatively the same enjoyment out of Origins if I went and bought it.  Sadly to say that the two games arnt even comparable, they may as well be different games entirely.  The gameplay in Origins is well... horrible.  extremely slow and unresponsive, not to mention the charactor/party control is limited in comparison to origins. I bought origins expecting something of similiar merit and likeliness to its later version, I guess I was mistaken.  I think the major problem with the game is I cant follow any quests.... I have a journal full of open quests and theres no marking anywhere as to what the **** Im suppose to do to complete them.  Also bad visuals  terribly slow combat gameplay.  I suppose the one thing I found exciting about the game is that it didnt recycle the same environments over and over like DA 2 did, which was probably the only dissapointing thing about DA 2, actually no... the boss fights were all way to easy even on nightmare.

Lastly, if someone who loved Origins and knows a lot about the game would like to post up some links or insight as to how to enjoy/play/succeed in DA Origins, I'll try and continue playing the game with a new attitude.  Namely.... how the F do you quest in this game without knowing where to go?

what u just said makes me think DA2 fans r lazy

WELL... I was hoping that DA: O, being it was the prequel to DA 2, would be mostly the same...and it wasnt. I cant even bring myself to finish the game, compared to DA 2 its extremely boring. Perhaps if I had it on PC it would be a different story because I've heard from numerous sources that it was much better on PC.

On second thought, perhaps I'll try to play as a dual weild rogue and get haste abilities as someone above mentioned was a good idea. Hopefully the rogue will hit faster then once every two seconds...

I've done the game on 360 too and believe me it is boring and not made for it. Crap compared to PC version. ALL the fights are boring and thecontrols are badly done. Tactical view + action bar = Winning

<insert DA 2 Commercial here>

I'm the in the reverse situation...  I've only played DA:O and not DA 2.  I've come to quite a different conclusion though:

Why would I bother buying DA 2 when DA:O Ultimate won't even work properly with DLC?  If a company can't properly support games released less than a year ago, why throw money away on new DRM content that can be snatched away at the cost saving whim of an incompetent company that can't even properly keep track of who bought their DLC content?

The thing is, you played DA:2 before DA:O.. So yeah, the original shows what the game was going for/should of stayed as, while DA:2 is the altered, simplified, dumbed down version..

I loved Origins on the PS3.  Although it didn't have the better tactical view of the PC it still brought the feel of a PC game to console. That why it was a huge success.  Not sure why they decided to try to bring the feel of a console game to PC with DA2.

DA:O is a very good RPG game if you know how to play it..and the Story..try focusing on the story if you don't like the gameplay well..DA2 is a good game..but to understand more about Dragon Age's universe more..then you have to play DA:O..that just my opinion..^_^
