I liked her in voice and looks, lol.  I think to me she really made for a better character. When you were asked questions and gave a answer, she didn't seem so cardboard, you had a good feeling to the text that was said out.   I really felt that she was made better then a male lead....and by the way, I always play male leads, being a male thats what I do but this game game me a better choice in the girl that acts better and pulls the story off better, she was relly a treat to play but not Male Hawke..taht bugger was bad.

It depends on the personality I want. Both have some really well-done lines.

I quite liked her - thought both VAs were good though after watching videos of m. Hawke.

I liked male Hawke better, but I agree that his voice was flat sometimes. Fem Hawke was very good, though.

I prefer Lady Hawke, but that's just my personal preference, not because one is inherently better than the other. Both VAs did a great job.

It isn't like Mass Effect, where your male choice has the emotional range of a block of wood...I should stop before this turns into one of 'those' threads.

Default? Definitely like the default female better than male.

But I like the male Hawke that I made a bunch. Overall I prefer Lady Hawke's VA though for most parts.

I just really liked her as a character better, to me as I did both paths and always like the maile better, as I'am one, but she was just better and that is IMO but she looked and acted the part more real. I wonder sometimes if they had went with the female as default if it would have went over better......I just don't know but for me it did and the entire family arc was better and story, even if the story felt it left off half way into it. I would love to see The Warden and Hawke meet but that would be asking too much.

I liked male Hawke better. He's got some really funny lines. I got the feeling that some of his lines were deliberately flat/deadpan to add humor.well at least I found them funny for that reason

Heh, I like both but I prefer specially male witty Hawke, the way he deliver some lines is priceless, I personally loved this one "Why is always Hawke to the rescue?"
Though the female Hawke failed at one point for me, example:
When escort Ketojan out Kirkwall with a witty Hawke and she says:
"They get the idea, Qunari.....Ketojan....Whatever! Calm yourself!!"
The way she said it with no flavor at all, well, that was minus for me.

Both are good, unlike mass effect.

I swear some of the lines are different depending on your gender though, maybe the voice actor was allowed to change some things?

I loved Lady Hawke. Character and voice actor! I thought it was a good blend between feminine and tough in my eyes :D

Hate when its too far in either direction. Don't want a damsel, don't want a butch whose 2 steps from being a dude. But filling through my posts you'll know there's little I disliked about DA2. Not sure how I haven't been chased outta here yet ;)

I did the fem hawke play-through first so her lines always seemed more original and funnier/better to me. But then again I've only done sarcastic personalities so maybe male hawke might work the aggressive better.

Its just great having your character talking like every one else , but Lady hawke just sneeks it by being more fun when snarky :D

I like both. Femhawke's voice gets very emotionally when it needs to be. I really liked her voice during mama hawke tragedy. I like how malehawke's voice can get really bossy and offensive with aggressive option XD Rivalmancing Anders with aggressive malehawke is particularly exciting.

Lady Hawke, but then that's just me. I only started playing the game with the male Hawke but just couldn't get the 'feel' of the game playing him so I went with my instinct and made Lady Hawke. LIke I said, just me. :)

I agree.  VO is splended and really gets her personality across.  While I didn't like the "diplomatic" VO for both, i can tell u now when my agressive 2h lady hawk tells u to back the f*ck down, u back the f*ck down! However the "joker" can feel a *little* bland at times, but it is the same for the male.

As for being chased out of the forums, im quite sure there is a mob with pitchforks around here somewhere who would be more than willing to give this a try *sigh* There are a few things in DA2 i disliked, but as a whole its a great game.

Definitely prefer female to male overall, more emotional range and feels more like a "character". I have to admit, though, I do prefer the male for certain lines. My first run-through was an angry female mage, and you did not mess with her, or she'd cut off your toes. I'm playing as a humorous female mage now, and she is equally awesome but n a very different way.

Overall I like the jokey male voice most for Hawke, although when Hawke is joking you feel that he really doesn't understand the gravity of the situation.

I think that the voice acting deserves more praise from players ... Bioware has done a really nice job with this, and it's only when you hear the different speech options for the various styles of delivery that you can realise the attention to detail that went into the voice acting.

That said, I'd be perfectly happy with a silent Hawke if it gave me more ways to roleplay.

You know, In ME1/2, I always preferred FemShep.

But so far for DA2, I really like both male and female equally. I think both VAs did a great job and have enjoyed played both so far.
