It isn't like Mass Effect, where your male choice has the emotional range of a block of wood...I should stop before this turns into one of 'those' threads.

But I like the male Hawke that I made a bunch. Overall I prefer Lady Hawke's VA though for most parts.

Though the female Hawke failed at one point for me, example:
When escort Ketojan out Kirkwall with a witty Hawke and she says:
"They get the idea, Qunari.....Ketojan....Whatever! Calm yourself!!"
The way she said it with no flavor at all, well, that was minus for me.

I swear some of the lines are different depending on your gender though, maybe the voice actor was allowed to change some things?

Hate when its too far in either direction. Don't want a damsel, don't want a butch whose 2 steps from being a dude. But filling through my posts you'll know there's little I disliked about DA2. Not sure how I haven't been chased outta here yet

I loved Lady Hawke. Character and voice actor! I thought it was a good blend between feminine and tough in my eyes

I agree. VO is splended and really gets her personality across. While I didn't like the "diplomatic" VO for both, i can tell u now when my agressive 2h lady hawk tells u to back the f*ck down, u back the f*ck down! However the "joker" can feel a *little* bland at times, but it is the same for the male.
As for being chased out of the forums, im quite sure there is a mob with pitchforks around here somewhere who would be more than willing to give this a try *sigh* There are a few things in DA2 i disliked, but as a whole its a great game.

I think that the voice acting deserves more praise from players ... Bioware has done a really nice job with this, and it's only when you hear the different speech options for the various styles of delivery that you can realise the attention to detail that went into the voice acting.
That said, I'd be perfectly happy with a silent Hawke if it gave me more ways to roleplay.

But so far for DA2, I really like both male and female equally. I think both VAs did a great job and have enjoyed played both so far.
