 I reached friend level with Isabela but I never use her in my party. However when I check my Hawke's abilities and go to the last tree with the buffs it says "Isabelas got your back" and has the +5% attack speed for Isabella and Hawke. First of all why is this appearing there when she isn't even in my party (in fact she left already) and 2nd will it cause that bug which activates when you use Isabela? that causes your attack speed to gradually get slower until the game is unplayable?

I think occasionally if Isabela happens to be in a cutscene with you, you can get the friendship bug. I know you can easily fix the problem if you play on PC by editing your save file. I've heard you can do this on console as well but I have no knowledge of it.

The way I understand it, it happens when you save the game. If Isabela (or Sebastian if you have his friendship bonus too) is not in your party when you reload, you can end up with the icon for the +5% on Hawke. If you then change your party and don't include Isabela, the game will remove the 5% speed bonus it thinks is supposed to be there, resulting in a permanent -5% to attack speed. There's some information about it in the Isabela FAQ linked to in my sig.

oh God the passive skill bonus won't go away.. and she has already left my party for good as I am nearing the end of act II. This and the damn maker's tear glitch are making me wary of continuing without fixing them (on xbox unfortunately).

It's possible to fix it via editing your save game on PC, Mac and 360, though not very easy to do so on 360. Here is a guide for editing your saved game on a 360.

ugh I ended up going back about 3 hours and intentionally pissed her off during the quest in act II where you go and retrieve the "relic" to remove her from friend-level

You do realise that she comes back at the very very end of act 2 right? If you have her friendship bonus, it means she will come back.

The longer they wait to patch this, the more ridiculous it is. Its been about a month now.

yea I do know this but I had to go back 3 hours of gameplay that was corrupted by lowered attack speed. for all I care that glitch-inducing **** could stay away though
