At least he made it to the end. I think Kingdom of Heaven he lasted 30 minuted :(

When I first looked at duncan tho I saw the dude from 300. It would work.

Gerald butler? no way he's to young and he doesnt have the duncan look......wait what if chuck norris could play duncan....ohh my god. Image IPB

That would never work mainly because nothing can kill Chuck Norris

Ok, Morrigan would TOTALLY have to be played by Claudia Black! Just as she is in the game.  She totally could pull t off. :)

They already made a DA movie. I think the title was Lord of the kings or rings... something along those lines!

Taken from the book of chuck chapter nine verse three:

And Chuck said un to his followers NONE SHALL PASS

..wait wrong verse

book of chuck chapter nine verse seven:

Bow before thee said Chuck and know that only Chuck Norris may slay Chuck Norris.

So as you see it is indeed possible for Chuck Norris to be defeated, but only by another Chuck Norris that has come back in time to defeat Chuck Norris.

I had to reply to this topic, seemed to interesting not to. Image IPB

Glenn Close as Flemeth would be really good.

Milla Jovovich would be a good Lelianna.

Kate Beckinsale as Morrigan would be fitting.

Gary Oldman I'd love to see as Logain or even Duncan. He does great as a good or bad character.

Allistair I think would be played well as Chris Pine or my favorable choice, Andrew Lee Potts. All he'd need to do is dye his hair, his mannerism reminds me a lot of Allistair in game.

Zevran (shoot me if you want to... I prefer not) I'd say maybe Orlando Bloom. He made a great elf, he's slender and with a tan can look quite exotic.

The others I draw a blank on at the moment.

Please, please, please... no! Making a movie out of a game has never relusted in anything worth watching. It already starts with the makers thinking "we have to make something new, the players know the story of the game already" which then results in gamers not liking it, because it has nothing to do with the game, and non-gamers not watching it, because they didn't bother to play the game either. The second problem would be that the cast most likely consisted of unkown actors, because "gamers watch it anyway, so why bother paying more".

Still I have to admit some of the ideas like Glenn Close for Wynne and Milla Jovovich actually sound pretty good, but not Kate Backinsale for Morrigan please... sure she's beautiful, but that character requires someone with actual acting skills.

Hmm. I have to say that some of the actors people are picking for Alistair are a little on the old side. With movies you'd have to much more consider the physical age and appearance as much as the voice and personality.

For me, Alistair is best represented by a young British actor like Simon Woods or Hugh Dancy.

For Morrigan, Kate Beckinsale might work (also British) but I also like Emily Blunt or even Ellen Page (though she's a bit young... mind you, it's not as if movies never take liberty with character ages).

For Leliana, Milla Jovovich is nice. Bryce Dallas Howard or perhaps Evan Rachel Wood could also work.

For Zevran... Antonio Banderas? Seriously? I've seen people suggest him, but this is clearly based on voice. Physically the man is just too old and too... big (meybe 10 years ago he would suit, but not now). I would think Gael Garcia Bernal, myself, or even Alan Cumming (he certainly can do flamboyant).

For Loghain, I would go with Gary Oldman or even Anthony Hopkins... someone with intensity.

Meh. I know we'll never get to actually have input in such a beast (were it to ever happen), but still it's nice to imagine. Image IPB

For loghain why not use the actor used already. Simon Templeman. He's about the age for Loghain anyway. For anyone not familair with what he looks like, check out the series of Charmed, he portrays the angel of death in that.

I'm sorry but I think Morrigan if they ever did make a movie should be played by Fairuza Balk. She looks exactly like the character in the sacred ashes trailer. granted diffrent voice, but come on she looks like she was born for the role look at the craft!

Kate Beckinsale has been "goth" enough in a few roles to be Morrigan....

I'm going to throw out Arnold Schwarzenegger for Sten. He's big, he has a funny accent, his best-known roles are models of brevity. Maybe if we can get 1985 Arnold.

I'm thinking Oghren will be breakout role for a short guy with a huge orange beard, who never in his mind imagine that he would become the new hollywood sex symbol. (

And are we really thinking of casting anyone besides Tim Curry as Arl Howe? I know I can't!

I haven't seen Diane Keaton thrown out for Wynne, so I'm going to do so. (Although I did see a Helen Mirren, and she does have an appropriately magical bosom for a lady of that age...)

I can see Chris Pine as Alistair, but I am a gi-normous trekkie. (Enough to know without checking that it was Louise Fletcher who played Kai Winn on Star Trek DS9, to answer a question from about a month ago...)

And if there's a DAO: Awakening movie, I want Jean Reno as the "new warden from Orlais."
