This is good fun :)

My picks:

Alistair - Alexander Skarsgard

Morrigan - Kate Beckinsdale

Leliana - Milla Jovovich (she played Joan of Arc already so...)

Wynne - Glenn Close

Zevran - Jamie Campbell Bower

Loghain - Sean Bean

Arl Howe - Tim Curry of course

Hrm.. yeah, I would watch that movie! Image IPB

Oh yes, this line up looks perfect. :)
This game/book screams out to be made into a film, maker, please make it so.

Morrigan - Claudia Black (duh)

Leliana - Milla Jovovich (ok yeah, style of sacred ashes video)

Zevran - Antonio Banderas

Sten - Jason Mamoa

The rest, hell no.

I will not watch it if Beckinsdale is anywhere in the credits, she has to be one of the lamest actresses I have ever seen. Glen Close? seriously?

Lord I hope they don't. . . .

Why?

Because we all know that Mel Gibson would end up playing Loghain and NOOOOOBODY wants THAT.

Who wouldn't want an alleged racist that makes sexual comments to female officers while being arrested for driving while under the influence to play Loghain? I would, that's for sure. It would be awesome!

I'm not sure what the rest of you think.. I'm not sure how any of you guys would think at all but from a girl's point of view. Viggo Mortensen imho would be just SOOOOOOOOOOOO Duncan.

The movie should be called: By Duncan's Beard. Maybe it could be a prequel to the game, sort of like the books? Either way, I'd love to see more of Duncan. I don't know why, but I always think of Liam Neeson whenever my PC interacts with Duncan, maybe 'cause he seems like a gray Jedi-sort.

You should be a casting director!  But I'd change Sean Bean to either Teagan or the Arl.  Heck, when I first saw Teagan I figured he'd been modled on Bean.  So, who to be Loghain?  What's his name, played Elrond and the Agent in Matrix....

That would be Hugo Weaving. He might fit, if they old him up a bit.

Alistair: Jude Law, Kevin McKidd, William Moseley....and actually, considering the youth in the game plot I choose William. Although Jude would be *my* personal choice....heh heh.

Morrigan: Natalie Dormer, Megan Fox (the latter on only on looks...lol).

Leliana, no choice but Sophie Marceau. :)

Wynne: One of the toughtest to cast. I picture Wynne as somebody who is strong, but ultimately classy and once-upon-a-time sexy. Jamie Lee Curtiss? No wait...Michelle Pfeiffer.

Sten: Ryan Gentles

Oghren: Help me out. Drawing a blank. The guy who played gimli is way too easy.

Zevran: Johnny Depp. Freak. lol

Anybody I missed? Have fun casting.

One nice thing is that you could cast literally anyone in the lead.

Some inspired choices, loving Alexander Skarsgard as Alistair. Wish I thought of that one >.<

Also amused that I made this thread 13 days ago, gave up on it, thought I'd check back and there's now 4 pages of replies!

I think we are more likely to get a Mass Effect movie, before Dragon Age. Both IPs have a ton of potential in other medias. If you haven't read the books, I highly recommend them. They do a great job of further fleshing out the worlds.

LOL! theres talk of a Halo movie, now thats a bland story for ya

Halo movie's been canned for a while.  We got District 13 out of what was originally going to be that.

Halo's setting is kind of interesting, though.  Not enough high futuristic action movies out there.

I actually liked the live-action Halo: ODST trailer that they did. If a Halo live-action movie could have a similar look/feel, I'd watch it.

Indeed, sadly they ****ed over funding and it got cancled. They still have a good many props like weapons, armor, even a fully working Warthog.

I saw a YouTube video of some of the guys who made the game driving that Warthog. He accidentally crashed it =P.

James Purefoy in the lead role since he looks just like the lead character in the Sacred Ashes trailer.

I hate to be a jerk, but Meghan Fox is a lot hotter than Morrigan..... now the Concept Art version of Morrigan... thats tough...

The concept art of Morrigan is awfully cute.

Will have my picks later.

1. I think having a movie of an RPG would hurt the experience as their is now a defined plotline, rather than the one you get to choose, however, a couple years down the road when the game is obsolete, why not? BUT!

2. What origin do they choose for the movie?

This is the 4th page, so i doubt my post will get read, but I am curious what people think

You kidding? A good writer could take "a quest" from this game and turn it into a descriptive adventure for a full length movie. Yes, you would have to write up a whole new script, but you don't look at the game and write a movie on the generic nature of it. You'd have to evolve one of the plot lines that seems most interesting to write about and go from there.

Remember...we don't actually see what happens as our party moves across the map from location A to location B, or all the "filler" material that real humans need to endure throughout a quest.

I urge him to reconsider. They should have modeled Flemeth after her.

Being able to pick out the like one bad picture on the internet doesn't really prove a point.

I don't think they would do the quest of the game. They would probobly do Alistar's history or something, up and until the Blight. It just wouldn't make sense to do the main quest to the game.

A Younger Christopher Walkins would have made a good Loghain,

Isn't Loghain more the age Walken is now? I mean, he already has this big career behind him.

I can't for the life of me think of a good choice for Leliana. Most of the rest of the main party I have ideas for (still trying to come up with faces for Oghren and Zevran), but I'm just drawing a huge blank on Leliana. I don't think either Sophie Marceau or Milla Jovovich are really right for the character.

  Sorry for being offtopic but besides all the casting business,I always wondered why Hollywood wouldn't invest more in CG movies,I mean ,there are few of them ,and they are not even close to what we see in game cinematics or the such.Personally ,if the process would be very long,or the cost would be very large or other things that could maybe stop it from being made,I don't really understand! Has Hollywood no interest in making full fledged CG movies? Take FF Advent Children for an example, that is made of win,or Resident Evil Degeneration . Btw,i'm talking strictly CG here, not taking into consideration other factors like acting or such. I really don't know ....If you ask me ,they just like making money out of commercialized flicks, and to gluttonize the society with all the mainstream stuff all the people are sick of. Just my opinion.

P.S: If there really was a movie,I would really love to see Morrigan of course xD ,and Alistair and Leliana,I like all the characters. They really have a personality of their own and seeing them in a movie would be a real achievement, well not only in a movie, but a good movie ,not made by Uwe Boll of course! Milla Jovovich would be great for Leliana and Leelee sobieski ,but I dunno ,looking for a close to Leliana actor would be really a challenge. But in my opinion if the personality matches the character in game ,and maybe the accent too, that is what brings the caracter to life ,being able to landmark these things. The looks matter but in little proportion .Acting Is Important !
