Alistair: Paul Bettany, though h is starting to look oldish, but I think he could pull it off.
Morrigan: Eva Green. She has that awkward, dark beauty kind of thing that would work for Morrigan.
Leliana: Marion Cottilard, just with red hair.
Sten: Michael Clark Duncan, or Djumond Honsou(sp?)
Wynne: Meryl Streep, or Maggie Mcdonald. Or the old woman that played one of the friends in Ya Ya Sisterhood and LOST. I don't know her name.
Ohgren: Not sure. A short John Goodman, or even Jeff Bridges.
Zevran: Antonia Banderas
Cailan: Paul Bettany in slightly different make up, maybe?
Duncan: Liam Neeson, or Sean Connery if the bastard would come out of retirement.
Riordan: If he is not Zevran, than Antonio Banderas, or Benicio del Torro
Lohgain: Hugo Weaving
Howe: Tim Curry, of course.
Dog: Balto is a pretty good actor.

IMHO, if they were to make a movie, it'd probably be better if it were a CGI movie anyway. (perhaps a more refined version of all the pre-rendered stuff they've shown already)
Tho' I'd stand by my first statement even if it were live-action.
Morrigan = Claudia Black. Period.

But really, I don't know if I would want a movie. The actors that would play the characters would ruin my vision of how the characters would look in real life. (or with better graphics

yea i know :'(
but he'd still be the best
personally i dnt know if a movie would be the best, i think some mini webisodes using the CGI models and voice actors they did in the 'Sacred Ashes' trailer would be pretty sodding sweet

Morrigan is what 25-30 claudia black is 37. I like her and all but if they were to make a movie i hope it would be CGI because she is older than morrigan for one and they base morrigans appearance off of a model not her.

Nyeheheh. What's a decade or so, eh?
I didn't care much for the 'model', either.

Let's take another example: Did anyone see the shameful film that they did for Dungeons & Dragons? It SUCKS! I thought that the second, low budget film that they did for D&D was much better.

Considering Degeneration was made by the same company that made the video game it was based off of it shouldn't count lol.MAdman1979 wrote...
NO, NO, NO! We don't want Dragon Age made into a film. Nearly every film based on a video game has sucked BIG time, with the following exeptions: Mortal Kombat 1 and Resident Evil: Degeneration (the CGI one). Hollywood just ruins every film based on a video game.

either way, I hate it when people use this argument. No body makes you see the movie. If it sucks well big deal, how much do you loose?

The most important thing is that Uwe Boll and Paul W.S. Anderson not be allowed to write, direct or come anywhere near the movie.
Approval +300000
I suggest that if anyone from Bioware or EA see one of these guys (in special Uwe Boll)...shoot!! or at least put the sign "closed until 2050" and hide under a table.

Realistically, I don't see how another high fantasy movie gets made after the LOTR movies. Especially since the Hobbit films are still due to be released.
Well, technically, the Narnia movies are high fantasy, as are the Harry Potter movies as well. They are also remaking Clash of the Titans.
Or are you saying that LOTR movies set the bar so high? Which I agree, LOTR movies did show how great high fantasy movies can be when they are done well, unfortunately studios just don't listen.
I'm still waiting for the release of Solomon Kane www.traileraddict.com/trailer/solomon-kane/trailer .. a studio needs to pick this up for wide release.
That movie looks amazing! Thanks!

Morrigan - Angelina Jolie ( shape shifting into a python or a panther, and that outfit come on )
Alistair - Paul Bettany is a good shout.
Sten - Arnie should come out of retirement.
Hero - Who plays you? Mine would be Scarlet Yohannsen.

CGI would be great!
But if we wanted to top LOTR it would have to be in 5-6 parts (even more epic), and I think we have the material for it. This would allow us to make introducing more party members easier. Also, this would allow for more time with each character. Not to mention it wouldn't kill us if some people ended up not making it to the last film.
Film 1 - Intro to the world, Origin story NOT from the game, and Ostagar as the ending. (maybe with the fight at the top of the tower as the end) With the new Origin story it could be really interesting even though we know how Ostagar goes. I was thinking Female Human Warrior with a sword, dagger, and bow not to mention DOG
Film 2 - Picking up in the wilds at Morrigan's, and going through one treaties quest. (Lothering and Dalish, introducing our loveable redhead and maybe even Sten) With some history on the elves, and the werewolves it could be very interesting. This will also give us some time to develop the main characters (IMO PC, Alistair, and Morrigan), give tons of elven history, and giving the audience a taste of its first rogue companion.
Film 3 – Next we do the dwarf thing with Orzammar. The politics, deep roads, and Golems should make for an interesting movie. Also, it would allow for the introduction of Oghren and possibly Shale (if Shale was introduced in a different way). Ending with Orzammar having a new king and the audience feeling as though they now know about Humans, Elves, AND Dwarves.
Film 4 – In a world of high fantasy magic, and in a way mages, can be handled in so many different ways. This is when we take the time to explain DAO's way. We do The Circle Tower's quest, journey to the fade, and introduce the audience to a bit of the darker side of magic with blood mages. This has potential to be just the right film to keep people interested in seeing the last two films. We welcome Wynne to the party even if it is just for this film (could be for more).
Film 5 – With all the treaties complete we know that we can not simply expect the humans to come together and follow the gray wardens into battle against the blight. We find out about Alistair's past, save Redcliffe from zombies, journey back into the fade, visit Denerim for the first time, find the urn of sacred ashes, and fight a dragon. If you watch this film and it doesn't make you stay up at night thinking about the sixth film we did something wrong.
Film 6 – Landsmeet and beyond need I say more? (Morrigans ritual
