I also love that my warrior can FINALLY wear armour that not only covers everything but also looks good on her. As for carrying the 2 handed swords and make it look believeable - since when did male Hawke make it look any more believeable? I'd say that role would go to the qunari.

Make her manly and I might as well just make a male character.

I say Bioware is not very good at making female characters.Look at the body models they used in DA:O and DA2,those ladies look like anorexic sl#ts with massive boobs job.Ugh,even old ladies like Leandra and Wynne..What's with those huge boobs?!Can't we make a female character with tough, intimidating and kick ass looking?

Glad to see I'm not the only one got annoyed by female Hawke's pointless and overdone hip swings.Still can't believe some people actually like that...lol

Uh, what?
This may be a result of staring too long at the female models in my perverse sexual lust, but FemHawke is pretty curvy, and FemShep is no twig herself.

No way! Just because a femme character is tough doesn't mean she needs to be butch. I liked her adorable movements while running around being a sarcastic warrior.

No one is saying that she should be "manly". I'd simply prefer that she walked/ran more like a real woman and less like an exaggerated parody of one. What about the people who don't want her to be adorable and dainty?
I personally feel like she was created with the male gamer in mind. Though I could be wrong, of course.

*sigh*Well, this is one of the reason why Bioware fails at creating female characters... lol Curvy body, yes, perfect for models and...well,wh0r3s.But fighters and warriors?Dear Maker,NO!At least make us a somehow athletic but not over-buffed body!TheBlackBaron wrote...

Well, I admit, I would rather have had Aveline as the base for my femHawke and her voice as well, but I believe I'm in a sad minority.

Additionally, some people really need to look at women with muscles. They don't suddenly look larger because they had muscles, unless they're body builders.
@DAFerelden91: So just because you hate FemShep you call her anorexic? Right. I love the fact that female Shepard actually looks like a woman and isn't just ****** and ass. The boob armour in Origins was ridiculous, as were the female bodies in the upper arm/torso area. They've at least made it proportionate, and I love that in DA2 the boob armour is gone and replaced with something believeable.

haha well no you are probably right. That's why almost all female characters in games are oversexualized - they have the male gamer in mind since they are the largest demographic.
But it's true..some of her animations are exaggerated,' but I guess I'd prefer that to F!Shep whose movements are very masculine. A healthy balance between the two is good to aim for.

As for her size/2hander ratio, look at Fenris. I hardly believe he's the beast in combat that he is to look at him but I know for a fact, that sometimes little people can contain surprising strength in those wiry muscles. My baby brother is like that.
Plus the armor DOES make more sense in this game. I hate some of the armor styles in other games where you get exposed bellies, throats, sometimes the boobs AND ass in thong style metal. Who the hell wears a steel thong up their crack? Or nine inch bootheels? The finest in chain mail hooker wear...
As far as I'm concerned, Bioware took a huge step forward with females in DA2. LadyHawke's delivery of lines was as good as the male (though i did notice some differences in dialogues). I never got a sense of either gender being prefered over another in the care taken in writing and acting. Both are excellent.

Though I definitely approve of the armour both in DA2 and DA:O. It actually looks like proper armour. Nothing annoys me more than a female character wearing something that is supposed to be armour but is actually a chain mail bikini. It might be sexy (for varying values of sexy) but it's completely impractical and she'd be dead in her first battle irl.

As for voice acting, I didn't feel like Lady Hawke had enough range, I never really stuck to one specific style of dialogue so I didn't really notice if sarcasm was really well done. I can say that overall Male Hawke's voice acting was much better for me. He conveys anger and authoritative tones much better. The only hiccup for me was when he hooked up with Isabela and said cheesily "come with me, I'll show you what I have in mind" or something along those lines. That was an awful delivery >_< I'm kind of accepted that romance dialogue will always sound lame.

Geez, first people complain that FemShep walks too much like a man and now FemHawke's walk is too feminine. BioWare can't win.
I must say I was pleasantly surprised at femHawke's animation after ME2. Admittedly it is a bit overdone but I prefer it to the way femShep walked - or sat on a couch, to mention the most WTF femShep posture.

Movement = Awesome, vastly improved over previous titles. This is so much better than ME2 and Origins. Mass Effect 1 had a good female movement scheme though.
Voice = Awesome, works with just about any build.
I don't agree with you on any of the points, for all that I'm concerned this was a huge step in the right direction.
And like others say, Bioware cannot please everyone. She either walks too much like a man or too much like a woman - frankly, I'd take too much like a woman seeing as how she is one...
Also, please don't start with the "women are oversexualized" jazz when every damn human male in the game is walking around with a six-pack.

The voice is the bit that really gets me. Whoever the actress is, she doesn't embarrass herself exactly, but she doesn't sound right either. I don't know if it's the silly posh accent she's trying to do, but it sounds weird listening to her. It's as if she's part tranquil and her emotions don't really connect with whatever is actually being said or fit the situation. It's all a bit weird and off putting to play.

People got a messed up perception of what kind of body is "required" to be a warrior. Just saying. (as in you do NOT have to be extremely buff to carry a 2h)
What are you basing this on, your vast experience fighting with a two-handed sword? You don't need to be super buff to lift one, but you certainly need to be strong and long-armed to use one expertly. Especially with the ease that Hawke uses his/hers.

The question is: Could you ever use the two-handed swords in a way the Hawkes use them? I mean... i always thought the two-handed animations in DAO were pretty good but a little bit to slow, but what the **** are M! and F!Hawke doing there? How long can somebody do this? I mean there is a reason why two-handed sword were used against pikemen, but Hawke is fighting against nearly everthing with enormous speed. It must be really exhausting to fight the way he/she does it.
And... of course: The enemys with two-handed swords still use the DAO animations. Nobody taught them the Zweihänder-Ballet.
