I actually like the fem hawke walk/voice/figure because it differs significantly from the male hawke. Look at fenris, you think he looks like he can swing a two-hander better than a femhawke, he's the same size if not smaller! Do you want fem hawke to have a manly figure like aveline?

I thought I read somewhere that they used male models for her arms, I could be wrong idk something seems manly about her. Could be the chin.

Aveline has more muscled arms for a start (though you don't see them after the first outfit), she also stands differently. She also has a more rooted posture as opposed to the way Isabela, fem!Hawke etctera stand.

Oooh! I liked her arms in that first outfit. They actually had some muscle without looking masculine or out of place. She looked like a proper warrior woman

Still runs the same way, though. /sigh

I love my F!Hawke and don't want to change a thing =) it feels better this way than F!Shep for me anyways. I like it that she sways a bit when she runs, and her cute fot-movement when she's waiting. Love that!

I really should try out M!Shep sometime soon =)

The OP just insulted me and my family personally. The FIRST time we get a different animation for females compared to males, body models that look good as opposed to broad shoulders and no hips that are just fugly and unattractive, and a female voice actor that not only reaches but surpasses the stellar performance of the legendary Jennifer Hale... and you DARE to complain about it? Oh HELL no, I refuse to see a single flaw here, her hips might have swayed a wee bit too mu- NO! Perfection! Pure and simple. Desist, cur!

For real though, there's like 99 positives to every single 1 negative with the femHawke in DA2. Let's make that clear.

OP is nuts, I like Lady Hawke just fine. Sure beats the animations in DA:O where females used the same animation rig as males and thus you had Morrigan running like she had rickets in her arms when in combat.

Obviously everybody wants to recognize themselves in their character. I personally don't walk with my hips swinging left and right, nor do I ever do that silly thing idle FemHawke does with her feet. So for me that really really really didn't work, it hurt to look. I think I cried a little. I liked how I moved in DAO and ME1 and ME2.

Why can't it be a part of character creation to select the body language regardless of gender? It doesn't seem like such a big deal to make that available.

Oh and I too LOVED that in DAO and DA2 my warrior armor actually covered the entire body!!! Yay! No more freezing my behind off in short miniskirts and bikini ala Guild Wars - eeeewww!!

how revealing the female armor will be throughout the game could also be made selectable at character creation, no? So those who like watching women run around in their underwear even though it's snowing, say, can do so at will, while the rest of us don't have to suffer.

Do you honestly think man Hawke looks any more credible with a giant two handed sword? His slinking, hairless torso and movements? It's called fantasy for a reason.

the only problem I have with warrior appearances is -ridiculously- oversized weapons. Thank god for Adonnay's model replacers (for pc version, I weep for you, console users :( )

A WOMAN WHO LOOKS LIKE A WOMAN? WHAT AN UNHOLY AFFRONT TO NATURE!

Why should FemHawke look and act like a rampaging bulldyke with roidrage just because you set her up as a warrior? Not everyone is going to. Beisdes, Fenris is shorter and skinnier than any human woman, and he handles double-handed weapons just fine.

My first fem Hawke was two hander warrior, I found nothing wrong with it. It's definitely an improvement over the past games where male and female character used the same animations.

I also find it funny that people think the weapons are oversized and "unrealistic". You do remember this is a game with magic and monster in it right?

Well male Hawke could have a beard right? That's got to make him look pretty credible.

here you immediately run into the problem of defining WHAT A WOMAN LOOKS LIKE. You are aware that, regardless of their sexual orientation, not all women look like or move like FemHawke, yes? Not all women are thin, not all women sway their hips left and right, not all women are what some would call girly and petite and nausiatingly cute.

So you can't claim that FemHawke LOOKS LIKE A WOMAN. FemHawke looks like some very specific women, and there's really no reason to ridicule those women who don't want or need to look like that.

I want to have the choice, that's the only reasonable and respectful position in this argument. You want to look and move like a ballerina - go ahead. I don't. I don't see myself that way, and it breaks immersion for me to have my FemHawke prounce around like that.

Only Duncan's Beard looks credible. All others are pretenders.

I don't disagree that there should be movement type choice, there was such in Saints Row 2... it didn't actually work (would always return to default animations) .
But saying that fem Hawke moves like a ballerina is silly, and she certainly doesn't handle a sword (shut up!) in any manner that's "weak".

It's not about realism, it's about aethetics. Shooting a bolt of lightening from your fingers looks cool. Carrying around an implement that covers 3/4th of your back and has a handle so thick that you couldn't even hope to grasp it doesn't. :P

Matter of opinion, I guess.

FemHawke looking like a spefici woman, would still mean that she looks like a woman. Now if she looked like an ostrich? Then yes you could say "She does not look like a woman"

He is infused with lyrium that lets him rip the heart out of his enemys, makes him faster after a kill and enables him to send a shockwave out.

But I have no real problem with the size of the sword. I'm more worried about the axes. These things look awfully imbalanced to me. And, to quote myself from earlier:

TobiTobsen wrote...

The question is: Could you ever use the two-handed swords in a way the Hawkes use them? I mean... i always thought the two-handed animations in DAO were pretty good but a little bit to slow, but what the **** are M! and F!Hawke doing there? How long can somebody do this? I mean there is a reason why two-handed sword were used against pikemen, but Hawke is fighting against nearly everthing with enormous speed. It must be really exhausting to fight the way he/she does it.

And... of course: The enemys with two-handed swords still use the DAO animations. Nobody taught them the Zweihänder-Ballet.

Well my warrior Hawke snorts Lyrium (Templar). There's my justification.
