I'll hope it won't be another Awakening.

And if the content looks interesting, I'll pre-order.

Disregard any information about it, then sit on the forum pissing and moaning about how it will suck.

Then, go off and buy it when it comes out.

Start stressing about wether the PS3 version gets a disc release this time around or not.

But anyway I REALLY hope DA2 gets an EP! Do you reckon Awakening was successful enough to justify them pushing for another one? EPs aren't really common these days.

Buy it.

Then come to the forums to read a bunch of people **** and moan (and fail to admit that they'll buy it too).

Then don't buy the crappy DLCs, the nonexistant expansion, or the game. Do please dedicate large amounts of rage and energy to hating the game. It helps.

And as you're entitled to your feelings on the game, so are the people who don't feel the same as you. Name calling and belitting someone else because they don't agree with you says a hell of a lot more about you.

This seems to be the prevailing viewpoint amongst the "faithful", doesn't it?  It would be just as easy for the game's critics to make broad assumptions that the "fans" are a bunch of shills, poor consumers, and/or have incredibly poor taste in games, but I mostly just see continued critiques and debate from that side without resorting to a bunch of childish name calling.  Perhaps that defensiveness comes from being outnumbered 3-to-1?  Perhaps they harbor a secret love for the people at Bioware?

I'm not sure why this so hard to understand, but:

Being disappointed with Dragon Age II and coming to the developer's forum to let them know why =/= "rage" and "hate"

It's not just the "haters"; aside from Sonic it's the lowest reviewed Bioware game ever.  It's pretty clear that across the board, the overwhelming consensus is that it's flawed.

Why exactly do folks get so incredibly bent out of shape that people are unhappy with this game?  This zealous, angry defense of a product is bizarre.  You like the game so much, awesome, go play it.  Bioware and EA have a satisfied purchaser in you.  I expect better for $60, and I expect better from Bioware.  I paid just like everyone else and was disappointed, and I have just as much right to talk about it here as you do.  Deal with it.

The problem is, there's quite a bit of both going on :P

Even as someone who dislikes the game you should be able to see that.

I liked DA:O, I liked DA2... thought Awakenings was alright, but not brilliant for an expansion.

If they bring back the DA2 companions for an expansion/DLC, then I will definitely pre-order it. If they do another Awakenings and reduce the companions to cameos or a letter, then I might pass on it.

They tend just to be given the next available number... and the sales people hope gamers won't notice!

As for what I do, that will depend on how long after all the game breaking bugs are fixed that it's announced, but probably it would be pre-ordered.

Play it if it's free, ignore otherwise. I did not develop good connection neither to Hawke or companions. Also, original game was a rip-off, so some punisment is due.

There's really not.  I mostly just see a lot of disappointment and warranted anger at paying a lot of money for something a lot of people feel is buggy as hell, rushed, and of unusually poor quality (for Bioware).  I also see that there are trolls on both sides of the argument, and that the mods only deal with the ones that criticize their game (seriously, take a look at how many insults have been made in just this thread).

Stay classy, Bioware.

I have been called all three.

I'm not sure why this so hard to understand, but:

Being disappointed with Dragon Age II and coming to the developer's forum to let them know why =/= "rage" and "hate"

I agree, but my experience over the past week has been that it's not enough for people who are disappointed or just downright dislike DA2 to agree to disagree with those who do like it, but they must also accuse those of liking it of being fanboys, sheep, shills, console kiddies, not "real" role-players, and on and on and on.  They also will downrank any and all positive user reviews of DA2, regardless of how well written they are.   I haven't seen the pro-DA2 folk engaging in this behavior.

Why exactly do folks get so incredibly bent out of shape that people are unhappy with this game?  This zealous, angry defense of a product is bizarre.

Honestly, I don't care if someone else likes or doesn't like it.  Well, that's inaccurate.  I'm sorry that you, and others, aren't enjoying it.  Beyond that, though, to each his own.  There are plenty of games that other folk adore that I can't stand.  We each have different tastes, and I truly wish it was enough for people to just express their happiness or disappointment with the game without feeling the need to attack the opinions of those who don't agree.

I'll think to myself, "it's a trap!" then proceed to pre-order it.
