Grrrrrrrrrr.... I played tru the game .... missed 3/4 of quests..... finished whole game .... game to last part ... joined the temples since after defeat of Quanri... AND MERRILL STILL DID NOT abandon me... arrggghhh.. I wanted her to bleed (

BTW have not talked to her, was rude.. was on aggressive tone through out the game.. and still Merrill in at my side....

I give up... It is not meant to be for her to die... guess biggest satisfaction I can get is her seeing the mistake she has done..

I know the feeling. It's the reason I've mostly bowed out of Paragon vs Renegade arguments on the ME forums after writing manifestos on the matter on the old BioBoards.

It's not a debate. Marehtari and the clan got themselves killed. Merril had nothing to do with it. Thinking you have any ground to stand on in blaming her for that specific action shows a significant lack of objectification on your point.

It is a debate and lack of objectivity occurs on both sides. 

Even if you blame the specific incident of the clan being wiped out on Marethari (and you can avoid that with the appropriate dialogue choice), there's still Merrill being an obsessed, naive woman who puts many other people at risk.  In my game she spent most of her time sitting at home in the alienage.  How many of those elves would have been able to fight off an abomination if she'd become one in their midst?

I don't think is at all correct to say she was risking only her own life in her dealings with demons.  She was willing to risk becoming an abomination to fix the eluvian and she had no guarantee that Hawke and co. would be able to stop her.  It's like a drunk driver thinking they are fine to get home.  It's not just their own life on the line, but everyone near them as well.

Lucky... I only got to kill Anders.

If you want to kill Merrill though, thats like wanting to kill puppies and kittens, early signs of a serial killer...

I killed them both, too, it was great. I didn't know Fenris could EXPLODE though!  Filming it next playthrough (I'd understand if it weren't for all of his bullying tactics, I really would).

I've always been annoyed by Merrill, but I've only recently done a rivalmance on my warrior. I like taking that path better but honestly, what a brat. Especially since she has the gall to want me to help her reconstruct the mirror in Act 3 anyway.
