Tal-Vasoth wouldn't join anyone else than another Tal-Vasoth either. They are still bound by the learnings of the Qun, they just want to find their own path. The only ones who would join us, are the mercenaries we encounter.
Tal-Vashoth is not a clan, it's a title (True Grey), a Qunari that no longer follows the Qun. Therefore, a mercenary is a Tal-Vashoth.

You know I don't get this. How are these two things remotely compatible?
The philosophy of the Qun seems to be entirely about purpose, and your path being laid out for you.
It's like saying you follow Christianity but don't accept that Jesus Christ is your saviour.

No he is not. The Tal-Vasoth refuses to stoop so low as to sell the last part of their soul for gold. They instead raid and loot for their supplies. The mercenary Qunari we encounter explains as much. Tal-Vashoth is a "title" of sorts, not just a name applied to all outcasts.
The Tal-Vashot aren't an organization. It is like saying that all atheists have the same set of values.

For the Kossith, Tal-Vasoth is a philosophical state of being, so to speak. They are dead to the Qun. A Kossith mercenary is not dead to the Qun, he is a living insult. Tal-Vashoth are not mercenaries.Herr Uhl wrote...

Tal-Vashoth are the violent defectors. Vashoth is defectors. Qunari couldn't care less about the difference between one group of Tal-Vashoth and another.

I hope I'm not the only one who prefers to tell those qunari "suck it, I won't let you torture one of your own even if he agrees with it" and cap their asses.
Oh and I was also thinking he'd be a companion. Actually, the first time I did this, I made the mistake of mentioning I was a mage, and the Qunari attacked me immediately. It wasn't until the second time I saw this that I even knew the Sarabaas wanted to die by their hand... whoops.
I love how the Qunari think even hearing a Saarabas speak can pollute them. I imagine my Mage Hawke running around town trying to get into a conversation with one and then saying at the end "by the way I am Saarabas"

We'll need some restraints, though. How strong are Quinari females? Would rope work, or do we need steel straps? Could you bite through wood? Oh! And I need to find a hot poker somewhere, just in case you get too ardernt, my darling Saarebas!bennyc72 wrote...

Female Tal-Vashoth mage please. A Qunari would just immolate herself
And yes. I support that. Just like I support a female Tal-Vashoth romance. Let me be Captain Kirk and show that poor woman what that thing is the humans call love
I approve this message!
Yeah, this!

What exactly did Ketojan do to the thug who was about to murder-knife Hawke?
It looked like he completely vaporized him with some sort of blue/grey flame.
I WANT THAT SPELL!

Bioware nobley sacrificed him, along with unqiue environments and shirtless Fenris, so they could give us a myriad of epic sidequests. Like finding a bottle of wine and bringing it to a vintner. And finding someone's lost pantaloons...

Yes. According to Gaider, he requested the art team to make him but they responded by telling him they would need to cut something else.

Doubt we'll ever see female Qunaris, unless they're Tal'Vashoth :T
I would definitely want to have a female Kossith Saarebas/Tal-Vashoth companion. If she's Tal-Vashoth, maybe she left the Qun because she wanted to be a warrior.

I'm not sure he'd have worked as a party member given his character, though.
