Isn't that affected the tactics base definations? Like is it, aggressive, passive, range, tank, defensive or what ever there was?

I have also notice that companions doens't seem to allways attack unless player make the first move sometimes. Other times when I don't want them to attack, they seem to rush in battle with all they have. *grins*

If I have extra slots I do, I usually add 2 attacks for Isabela and Sebastian, so that I can get their chains pretty stacked

Do you only need to do this for ranged characters?  This wouldn't be necessary for agressive Isabela or Fenris, right?

Check your behaviors.  Half the behaviors are glitched to where your allies wont attack.  I know agressive, tank, and ranged work for certain though

I always set the last tactic as "Enemy: nearest visible -> attack". I don't know if this is necessary but it ensures everyone is always attacking something.

I'm going to do this with all the ranged characters (when I can actually play the game, but that's a different forum), but I'm wondering if it's necessary for the agressive ones.  In fact, is there an explanation anywhere on what the behaviors do, exactly?

I have little different ways usually.

In Nightmare difficulty, I have no attacks at all any kind in custom tactics. In little lower difficulty, I usually end it with "Enemy: Lowest health: Attack". How ever, I could have other attacks before it.

Example:

Enemy: Short range: Attack (Attack enemy what is close first, like defend you self)
Enemy: Using range Attack: Attack (Attacks rangers second if they are there)
Enemy: Lowest health: Attack (Attack enemies with low health)

Tank could have:

Enemy: Rank elite of higher: Attack
Enemy: Clustered more than three: Attack
Enemy: Nearest visible: Attack

Is it neccassary have it there? I don't think so.

Behavior profiles decription as what they do can be read by puting mouse cursor over the name.

How ever, defualt attack behavior it's depending the "behavior" profile. My point is that you don't need that "attack" line, unless you want to change some default attack priorities. If companion does not attack at all when they should, it's more a bug and the attack line in end doesn't fix it.

I don't know, but they definitely make a difference.  The "tank" profile does not engage foes that it deems too far away and will just stand around if enemies spawn too far down the alley or something.

Thay being said I leave nothing to chance.  The last line is always "Enemy: nearest visible -> attack".  It's probably redundant but I always hated it when my units/characters didn't attack in video games so I do what I can to ensure they do.

The real value of the attack tactic is that you can put it above things that you only want cast out of combat, such as deactivating sustained abilities. Generally, you should always enter battle with a full mana or stamina bar and then only activate your abilities based on tactics; you can use a lot more abilities that way.
