Considering that Mass Effect 2 is a better game than DA2, i have never seen(in my experience) a gaming company to just give away such a game if you buy another one. Does this action redeem Bioware in your eyes screwing you over with DA2?

No. Does somehow giving away a free game make DA 2 uncrappy? It's just a better value now that you get a solid game along with a crappy one for the price of one game.

No! In fact they managed to ****** off even more people by claiming "that their rewarding their most loyal fans".Their most loyal fans would have already bought ME2 on day one.

Honestly, this feels more like their giving us the fingerImage IPB

And how many DA2 buyers don't have ME2 already?

I love da2 as much as da:o. the gameplay isn't all there and it could've used more work but it doesn't make it any less immersive and fun. I just love the lore.

that said for those who do feel screwed over, I wouldn't say it's that special because me2 can be downloaded for 15-19.95 dollars including the Cerberus network (an extra 15 dollar value) while this free download does not include Cerberus network, you have to buy that. for 15 dollars. so it saves you anywhere from 0-4.95 in reality.

I think it's a nice gesture even though there are interpretations that renderi t self-serving. Even a sheer-desperation interpretation would make them more sympathetic in my eyes. Sometimes in interviews they don't always come across very well, and it's good to have the reminder.

I don't know, but I didn't as shooters don't appeal to me.  I'm in no rush to DL it either, altho I probably will before the end of the month.

No. It's a desperate move likely triggered by lower than expected sales with Dragon Age 2.

Still, it's something we don't see everyday and that's to be commended. It's good for people who don't yet own Mass Effect 2 on PC and want to, but not really anyone else.

I think what will redeem Bioware in the eyes of many is a good Dragon Age 3. Dragon Age 2 is much more of a failure than a success in my opinion.

Personally, Bioware can do what they want, I vote with my wallet. But there are many people who feel "betrayed" by the company and the only thing that can really placate them is a Dragon Age 3 they'd be proud of.

So, at the end of the day, no. Hasn't redeemed them.

I doubt that more than 10% of people who purchased DA2 will download ME2 or use it - the majority (IMO - this isn't statistically based) will already have played it or not care for it - after all it was GOTY 2010 etc.

I'm fairly sure MOST that had any interest in ME2 would have played it already.

How does ME2 makes DA2 better?

I know, getting free sh*t is a real bummer, isn't it?

What would've been nice was if they offered like 25% discount on pre-ordering ME3 to accompany DA2. That would help increase sales.

I was actually reminded of BP ("We're sorry!") by this action Oo. It's still a question I want to mark as "dumb" but then again I don't want to offend you ; )

You can't make a game better by giving away another far better game.

It's a step in the right direction, but there should come MUCH more (lost years for free, dungeon updates for free, tactical Overview for free just to name a few) to improve DA2.

But maybe they just made it as flaw ridden as it is to improve it later with dlc that everyone pays for, Bioware surely wants to have its cake and eat it too...

Fu*k off. It's the way they did it like they were rewarding us for putting up with their ****ty game. Not to mention that it is completely useless for people who already own the game. If you want to look at a company that does free promotions right just look at valve. Portal was free during the summer a $20 value and it required no other purchase. They also released, a still free to download, alien swarm.

Guess why they're doing it? To increase sales for DA2, of course. And it's not that they're giving it away for free that irks me.It's the way they marketed it.

Apparently, their most loyal fans haven't even played ME2? Imagine that...

Also, anyone interested in free ME2? I still have the free online pass codeImage IPB

I thought this was only for people buying the game now, not for people who already have DA2. Or am I wrong and could I get ME2 for free? (bought DA2 2 days after release).

ok that's ridiculous. it took them 1/4 of the time to make da2 as it did da:o and it's SOLD (not shipped) over a million copies in 2 weeks. much faster than da:o.

this is an honest THANK YOU to players. it's also a marketing move. as i said before, considering you don't get cerberus network with it, it's not the best deal.

and i really am so annoyed with all you people who are so nasty to bioware about da2. bioware churned out this huge game in just one year of development time. do you think it was their choice to have only a year? absolutely it wasn't.

do you REALLY think they would reuse assets if they weren't forced to because of time constraints? do you REALLY think they aren't already aware of the obvious issues that you guys so tactlessly address in every forum post? the anonymity of the internet makes people such ass holes. bioware didn't make you buy the game. if you hate it so much, if you think the da series is over or has been ruined, sell it and get off the fan forums and get a life you pathetic trolls.

It doesn't appeal to me as I still can't bring myself to finishing ME 1. I would imagine that these are copies that would not have been sold regardless. So the upside is that it delays the use of a few cubic meters of landfill?

Jokes aside... it's free what's the big deal? I don't see this as anything other than a PR/Marketing move. Which is good as far as I'm concerned. DA 2 is a good game and deserves to be played by as many people as possible.

Anybody who has DA2 now can get ME2 - regardless of when you bought it. Up until April 30.

What exactly in my post was so insulting?

From my perspective it's pretty cool. I own ME2 on 360 cos my gaming rig wasn't up to it when the game was first released. Now I get it on PC too for no extra cost. Just for buying another game (DA2) that I really enjoyed anyway. Plus my husband's happy as it means I won't be hogging the main tv for my ME2 playthroughs anymore. :wizard:

I had DA2 on pre-order. Am currently downloading ME2.

It was a nice gesture and I've already redeemed my code but this doesn't redeem Bioware for DA2. I have enjoyed DA2 somewhat but it could have been SO much better.

Well, I didn't.

But the answer is no. It was a cool move, as a step in the right direction, but not enough for me to forgive the train wreck that was DA2.

Aha, so it ís a "we're sorry for this game, have a cookie"-action. Funny thing is if I thought I would have liked ME2 I probably would have bought it already. Anyway, free stuff, yeah.
