They only give ME2 with DA2 because it has only sold 1 mil on all platforms combines in two weeks. Seems that PC sales are way behind. That still doesn't make DA2 a better game.

nope, dragon age 2 is still a total let down in terms of plot (which is what the dragon age franchise is based on)
Seriously... you have a wonderful, well made and deep plot driven game, then you release a sequel with a "plot" as deep as a petri dish

no, they havnt redeemed themselves, but its a start :(

var fctb_tool=null;
function FCTB_Init_3e6d9c4dca36413bbdc1f0abec3f89b2(t)
{
fctb_tool=t;
start(fctb_tool);

It's April. There's like Quarterly Earnings Reports looming over their heads and sales for the game are dramatically below what DA:O sold, which means it is dramatically below expectations. Therefore, the reason for this, is to puff themselves up as much as possible before the investors ****** themselves in fury.

To a micro organism a petri dish would look very deep.

The last push beforer quarterly reports makes a lot of sense. Given the ammount of advertising DA2 had , and the low take up rate of the actual game.

It's not a start; a start would be EA promising the following things and following through on them:

DA2: Enhanced Edition, for no cost to exisiting game owners on all platforms; this would include Bioware having enough time to make unique levels for all areas.

An update to the DA Toolset that would include all assest from DAO-Awakening and the DAO DLCs.

NO DLC for DA2 until the first two things are given to us.

A promise that they will not rush future DA games.

Once one ignores the way Bioware's PR department have presented themselves and the various negative interpretations of their past interviews... sure, this is a step in the right direction. After all, who doesn't like free stuff?

A public apology for tricking fans into buying full price for a half-finished game, with promises of soon to be released updates that include the rest of the game would have likely appeased many more. But I doubt those in management would allow such a thing though, even if there were those willing to do so in Bioware.

And no, that is not something that I specifically want, but from what I gathered by visiting the forum the past couple days.

EDIT: I'm always way too slow when responding to these threads. :(

NO.

Only way for themm to redeem themself is to make next game true rpg bg2 style. Dialogue trees, rich world, more interactive world/npc, better combat system (d&d had it flaws but one in DA:O and even more in DA2 is really weak), isometric cam, more immersion, western medieval-like graphic style instead on silly , anime-like, etc etc

Until they do that they wont redeem. And yes I am aware they not planning to do it.

Maybe the Arrival-DLC doesn't sell good enough and so they hope to raise the sales a bit.

It is not selling good at all.Even professional reviwers gave it very low score, since like DA2 is pure acttion focused( perfect for Virtuall villagers audience, heh).

They are trying to boost both flagging sales,DA2 and Arrival ones, so thisis  more of the desperation attempt to milk dollar more out of 2 not so good efforts.

Don't blame them though , everyone and their brother is trying the same with other subpar products in every industry  to.But i still pitty poor souls that fall into the trap.

I like this Tactics from Bioware.

"buy a crap Game and get a good Game for free"

I think thats kinda funny after all.

How about rewarding the Loyal fans by giving the Content Patches out for free? You know those little patches you get for Free from other Developers who dont call them DLC :)

Honestly, as a console gamer who cannot afford a gaming PC, I feel even worse than I did before the promotion.

I bought DA2, preordered back in October. I absolutely hated it..... and now? I get what was in all honestly a crappy game sitting on my shelf and the code for a game that I cannot play because my computer couldnt run it.

"Woohoo" :huh:?

For me thier was nothing to redeem in my eyes.
I already own ME2 so I gained nothing, giving away something I paid full price for slightly annoying but ohh well it happens and nice one to all those who got a decent game from it.
At the end of the day DA2 was an average game at best but 1 failed game (imho) dosnt mean I have lost trust in the company it just means I hope they reflect on all consumer comments the good and the negative and learn from them, Thus making thier next game far superior.

Bioware and EA are just trying to pad the sales stats of DA2. I think they know how big of a failure this game is.

I agree. DA2 could have been an improved DA:O, instead they made a dumbed down action hack and slash rpg.

This is barely an RPG, this game is as if Leisure Suit Larry and Splatterhouse had a child.

Sincerely, I don't want a game I already have (I gave the promo code to a friend) for free, I want the mistakes and shortcomings of DA2 corrected.

On the other hand, it's possible that the new ME2 user will put some cash on Bioware's accounts by getting the DLC's so...

Considering that Mass Effect 2 is a better game than DA2, i have never seen(in my experience) a gaming company to just give away such a game if you buy another one. Does this action redeem Bioware in your eyes screwing you over with DA2?

Well, there's a reason that I haven't bought ME2, so it doesn't make a difference. I'll probably download it, just because it's free, but I'm not actually interested. Much of what I dislike about DA2 came from ME2, so it's just more of the same. This is mainly a marketing ploy geared toward people who don't buy Bioware games, I think, as most people who do will have already bought ME2, if they wanted it, or have decided that they weren't interested.

Redeem? nah. But them doing this is surely a "sorry" as far as I am concerned. They seem well aware that the game didn't reach neither their own nor others' standards.

If they felt bad about the way people were receiving it, I'm not sure what else they could do. Short of giving your money back, which if I recall they will do if you contact them.

They can't really make any promises with respect to DA3 probably because they don't know which direction they're going.

Their marketing guys probably figured they could earn more money from potential DLC purchases than the actual game.

ME2 for the PC costs $20, it also comes with Cerberus Network.

This promotion doesn't include Cerberus Network, which normally costs $15.

Kasumi, Overlord, Shadow Broker, and Arrival will cost you $31. $46 in total with Cerberus Network.

This promotional strategy not only makes BioWare look charitable, but it will also generate them bigger profits in the long run.
