Screw you. I didn't start any discussion, I just posted a freaking link to a Dragon Age 2 related article. I didn't even say Yay or Nay to anything.  <_<

discussion" on these forums has been pretty heated up.

Here.

For discussion value, do you agree/disagree? What are your thoughts on the matter?

Yes, you did start this discussion.

Seriously, screw you. I intended to talk about that article, not about this general gay discussion that has been done hundreds of times already. It's not my ****ing fault that whenever people see the word "Homosexual" they start this same discussion over again. And the article doesn't really focus on this "controversy". Most of these idiots got no freaking idea what this thread was about anyways before it came down to this. So screw you and your idiocy.

See for yourself.

Salient detail, the heterosexuals who were not homophobic didnt get aroused but did get aroused for hetero and lesbian porn. 'Sometimes, the truth is just SO much more gratifying than anything one could make up.

Oh well, people with convictions only accept statistics when it agrees with their viewpoints.

I'm not bothered by being called gay, I'm bothered that you implied that the majority (being heterosexuals) shares your opinion and I felt it mattered to relay that.

Studies conducted say that 80% of homophobes get aroused seeing gay porn.

Some other study had it at 60% for homophobes, and with straight men who had no problems with homosexuality down at 10-20% or so.

I think it's BS- It was just a gimmick in DA2 and it's pointless and annoying- just go to the blooming rose- NOT ONE HOT CHICK!?
Every character is ******- it's just to aid marketing as there are no sex scenes- just a dude/chick zipping up their fly in an empty room and the same 3 retarded lines of dialogue.

The article was about the homosexual characters in DA2, specifically Anders and how people (himself) can react to it.

So you started a thread to discuss an article about homosexual characters, specifically Anders, in DA2.

And are then surprised when people start talking about homosexual characters in DA2?

That is not what I meant to imply. What I was saying is that heterosexuals who don't support the behavior can't say anything because homosexuals (the minority) are untouchable.

However, I do think it is fair to say that homosexuality is not supported by the majority in at least the cases of America, and the world as a whole. Look up the word tolerance.

I am assuming you are being serious, I would like to know who conducted that study. His name escapes me but there was a zoologist who did a 'study' and determined that children like being molested.

EDIT: Nevermind, so your link in a later post. I am curious what this is supposed to prove considering I haven't heard anyone here say that 'God hates ****' or that 'homosexuality' is contagious or that it is wrong for one man to be able to appreciate another man's outfit, haircut, or what have you.

Well, that's pretty much the main problem. People aren't talking about homosexual characters in DA2. They are talking about homosexuality in general. About whether it's right or not, etc. etc. :?

It's never been "shoved in my face". Some of you need to choose your dialogue more carefully. My chars have never been hit on by ANYONE that I didn't want.

Never

Well Isabela and Anders does flirt a little bit when the men and women, and I believe Fenris also flirts a bit with women at least.

5 - 20 seconds each maybe ~ its truly horrible, HORRIBLE! I say.

LOL. Well more than ever, I find that there is a group of people out there running around just DYING to be offended.

Keelah, is this thread still going on?

Homosexuality is in gaming and it's going to stay in gaming as much as homosexuality is going to stay in reality. People like options. If you don't like people of the same-sex hitting on you, reject, recompose, and move on.

My problem with the whole gay romances is that it seemed lazy on Bioware's part. I can see Isabella or even Fenris (sic) as bi but it seems they just made everyone in Kirkwall bi just to make it easy. The only individuality the companions have is that I can't change their armor. They will swing anyway, but they won't let me change their armor? Bioware gave me more freedom with the sexuality of the characters than what really mattered i.e. gear, direction of game, diplomacy or fight. Bioware said they wanted the characters to be their own individuals that's why they didn't allow armor customization but apparently your sexual preference is not an individual defining trait. As I said it was just lazy feeling. They should have made it so that if you hit on a straight character and you were the same sex you would get rivalry points instead they did a cop out. It just adds to the rush job that DA2 is. It's a good thing they put the Mabari Hound as a summon instead of in the party, Now that would be a forum discussion.

You are illustrating exactly what that was saying. What I have to say is hurtful. What the rest of you have to say is not (that isn't targeted at you).

I think having the romances be bisexual or Hawke-sexual was intentional, part of charactarization. If you're femHawke, Anders is straight, but if you're manHawke, he's gay. Some of it makes little sense. Granted, it is a little cliche that you can romance whoever you want regardless of gender.

Edited for errors.

Oh? Have you been banned? Hindered in posting? So...you can say whatever you want but you get a rebuttal. Perhaps you're being a bit...dramatic?

Uh...homophobes are not tolerant and you are not either. You do not tolerate the Anders line, apparently, so who is intolerant here? I assume you looked it up yourself.
While you're at it, look up civil rights for another example of why having a majority does not give you special rights.

Do prove it being a defect.

The purpose of all life is to live, reproduce, and die.

Now unless you are saying that sexuality is purely choice and not genetically / biologically influenced then something isn't wired properly.

This is a simplification that overlooks several things and thus is invalid.

There are several ways to carry your genetics into the future, for from an evolutionary standpoint two children by your sibling is equal to one child of your own, and so on.

Further there is no meaning, simply that what is evolutionary effective survives, and what is not dies out. Not wanting to have children, or care for your siblings, or cousins, or your tribes children, is a rather ineffective evolutionary drive, and thus dies out in due time.

And having children of your own is a more efficient way of your strain of life to continue, but there is no fate or destiny, nor is homosexuality a stop for this, since its rather easy for a Lesbian, alone, in a couple, polygamous relationship or community to have a child, as is it for a male, as long as she finds a donator, or he finds a woman willing to carry it.

In a sense a homosexual man with good grades, with everything a sperm clinic wants, will most likely be far more effective at spreading his strain than any women will, given that its problematic to get 10 or more children.

And among humans and in nature (mostly birds as far as I know) its not rare for homosexual couples to arrange so that their own offspring can be born. In the case of some Turkish birds they are actually more efficient at it than their heterosexual counterparts as the male birds are larger than females, and they can secure a larger territory, making it easier for them to lure females to their nest, copulate, have the female lay its eggs, and then throw the mother out.

In the end there is nothing unnatural in nature, unless you can't find it in nature, and there is no meaning or goal about it, just drive.

And by your logic impotent men and women would be far worse than homosexual men and women, and I can't see it.

EDIT: Thedas is obviously different, and operates under different laws, for one there is gods here, and meaning and reason outside the drive nature here provides, and thus given that there are gods, and especially with polytheism it gets horribly complex to sort out reasons as the system is a complex one, and what spirit, daemon, god or demi-god caused one thing to happen, or why, gets frustratingly pointless, as the Maker might simply have been annoyed one day, or some old god might have wanted to play joke on someone else.

So given the polytheism seen in Thedas we can't rule out anything, or given this in future games all newly born could be homosexuals, and all 2nd born children in the next age might be born mages, dunces, heroes or bisexuals, and all of the above, if the gods will it, or even if only one god wills it.

Thus arguing what is lore friendly, and what fits into the world becomes futile, esp. to argue against the real gods of Thedas, BioWare and their writers, they could obviously decide anything, and make it law and canon, like that all companions are bisexual.

Nothing wrong with that, since its not Terra, its not here, and even then we could run into 4 random people with bisexuality as their orientation in life, its just incredibly rare, unless you go to certain parties probably.

Reason is irrelevant. These people exist.
Plus more than a few of us staight guys really appreciate girl on girl. Image IPBImage IPB

On the other hand, I guess it couldn't hurt to have an "off" button for those that aren't .....uh......skillful enough to properly negotiate the dialogue options.

Thank you. Nature is natural, and everything is natural, and almost everything in nature serves a purpose in one way or another.
