Well, I'm a straight woman, so maybe my opinion here is skewed. The only issue I have with this is that I always saw Anders as straight (yes yes, I know, many people didn't), and so it bugs me that they've made him available to males. On the other hand, I'd be just as pissed if they made Isabela straight - its messing with the character that I don't like. If it was all new or established bisexual, no issue here. And yes, OP, you are a homophobe. I am straight, therefore I do not like being hit on by women. Do I complain about Isabela and say Bioware is promoting a gay agenda? NO. People hit on people who don;t respond all the damn time, get over yourself.

Are you saying you don't like boobies?!:o

Call me a homophobe I care not. Its disgusting, you ruined Anders, and DA2 in the process. Let me guess SW:TOR is going to be full of gay on gay wookies and ewok. As a straight person this is a disturbing and a disgusting. You lost alot of "core" fans with this. Im sure you gained some special intrest groups though. Im done, goodbye.

Seriously, who cares? I am not that into DA2 but it has nothing to do with gayness;

Totally not.. Image IPB

If you were a straight man (like myself) you would just ignore the gayness and look at boobies..

Or Miranda... Dat Ass....Image IPB

I find Miranda's ass too big personally, like it's hiding flab, juts out too much. I am more a breast man though...still wouldn't kick out of bed. She could Unstable Warp me!

As much as I completely disagree with the OP's views - he's not trolling. He has multiple games tied to his account and the account is old. Clearly, these are his honest opinions - and though we may all disagree, it's not really our place to insult him for holding whatever views he wants to hold.

It's not really appropriate for him to express said views publicly however...

It depends where you are from. Came across some documentry on BBC last night about Uganda introducing the death penalty for being gay. I don't really care what people get upto in private, but I fully understand people not wanting it forced on them in their entertainment mediums for whatever reasons (social, political, religious, personal).

Just in case anyone thinks I was making up the Uganda thing.

If people think (and I believe you are talking about the Anders encounter?) that he came on too strong and they didnot like that, I can understand that... Everyone is entitled to an opinion...

But... to use words like disgusting, it's way too extreme I think...

Interesting.

Well, we all know that the biggest homophobes are generally actually closet homosexuals expressing their self-hate Image IPB

In most countries that are regarded to have a high standard of human rights, people are free to believe whatever they like, as long as it doesn't infringe upon other's beliefs.

That means: 'Homophobes' as you put it, are entitled to their belief. Just because you don't share it does not give you right to insult them, nor them the right to insult you because you are pro-gay.

The same applies to being religious or not, etc.

The TC clearly has not done the socially acceptable thing here, but you shouldn't all lower yourself to the same level by throwing childish insults his way.

I suspect the OP is trolling, but if he's not then I have to say I find this endless debate amusing as hell. I'm straight and have been hit on by gay men before - just say thanks but no thanks if that's not your scene, what's the big deal?

There's a lot of things wrong with this game, so I find it surprising folks choose this to gripe about. However I don't think the thread should be closed - instantly banning/closing something isn't necessarily the right thing to do when people have clashes of opinion, it stifles debate. As this debate is clearly DA2 related it should be allowed IMO.

There was a study done into homophobia OP, and the results were pretty interesting in that many of the more staunch homophobes actually showed increased arousal when shown gay pornography:

I'm gay.

And you uncovered our agenda! Well played sir. Our agenda consists of turning everybody in the world gay and eating the children!

I kid. You're reported. And about to get banned.

Ohnoes! Flee, straight men of straightopia! FLEE!

On a more serious note... @OP: I don't see how the fact that they've included gay romances affects you, at all. There is little reason to be disgusted by a fictional character's sexual orientation. I haven't played the game yet (mail order), but I assume you can still tell them you're not interested, etc.

(EDIT: YES, I'll stop editting my post.)

I'd agree , but then I don't have any of those social, political, religious or personal reasons.

Well, see thats exactly whats going on here, he used to ****** over Anders but when Anders came on to him the confrontation was too much for his brittle shell of true hetero male act and he had to rage quit the game and the forum.

If a person publicly states a personal position in an open forum, then said person should not be surprised if others disagree. Aside from that, even though I made a sarcastic post about the gay agenda, I take it very seriously.

A mature post will most likely draw mature replys. Immature ramblings with uninformed statements will draw what they deserve, namely ridicule.

Aside from that there are many other threads around here, dealing with the same subject. People can, and will get tired of constantly rehashing the same thing. Especially when an "I demand or else" post pins itself against a whole group of people.

Although in my country gay marriages are acknowledged and have been for a long time, there are many places that not only disciminate against gay (fem and male) relationships, but even criminalize them.

OP your complaint is several games too late.

I remember same-sex romance options were included since Baldur's Gate and Jade Empire.

Jade Empire I remember, mostly because of the females not wanting to share a love interest. But nothing rings a bell from Baldurs Gate (II).

Why are people calling OP a troll? Stating something you don't agree with = trolling? Plus, it's not like he's a fresh account created just to post one topic and disappear.

This is not much different then saying games promote violence. Despite killing a lot in games, I've never even been in a brawl in real life.
But being a bisexual male I am already perverted beyond redemption, if it wasn't for those nasty gays who wouldn't stop hitting on me...no, wait, this is not how it happened.

Not really, if you think like OP or others think like him. While we teared our flesh and soul to get used to live with what we are, they still have those barriers in their minds and everyday they add new ones. In their lives gays are minority or non-exist. Their belief, their family or education supports the idea  gays are abominations in life which must be destoryed for the greater good of society. They believe it and very content with it. So probably "disgusting" can be  the lightest word he can think about that situation.

Only wrong I see in posts like this is one sided take on situation. Lesbians okay, gay guys must banished doesn't fit well with my justice idea. Also I finished game 4 times and still playing. In my runs only the guys/ladies I flirted hit on me (other than Isabela's certain cut scene one) and I started and controlled whole thing. I have a hard time to understand how this thing is happening to others. It is true some cool looking answers are flirting lines but for God's sake they have huge heart symbol. Image IPB

@Bobsmith

It is very believeable. In many African and Middle Eastern countries even women don't have any rights to speak of let alone they accept something too modern like homosexual relationships. It is a pity some societies burried their heads so deep in religion so they forgot about being human.Image IPB

Yeh, but iirc they didn't hit on the same-sex PC. Like Isabela does on femHawke. Oh wait. Wrong pixel puppet.
