In most countries that are regarded to have a high standard of human rights, people are free to believe whatever they like, as long as it doesn't infringe upon other's beliefs.

That means: 'Homophobes' as you put it, are entitled to their belief. Just because you don't share it does not give you right to insult them, nor them the right to insult you because you are pro-gay.

The same applies to being religious or not, etc.

The TC clearly has not done the socially acceptable thing here, but you shouldn't all lower yourself to the same level by throwing childish insults his way.

The tone of a post - sets the tone for it's replies.

There are ways to say you have issues with dialogue options that aren't so likely to elicit  viceral responses.  Very few here have been able to master those ways.

I don't see 'homophobe' as a childish insult especially in response to how this was worded. 'Gay agenda'... should we sit back if someone, say, decided that allowing women characters to have strong roles was wrong because women should stay in the kitchen and raise babies?

Yeah, you're welcome to your beliefs but if they are ignorant ones I personally will call you out on it.

If someone male grabbed my ass i wouldn't see it as a compliment but would bash their face in instead.

Or you could sue them for sexual harrasment, oh I just love our society, a pinch on the butt is evil but a punch in the face is ok, I'm still laughing here.

Male, straight here. I wasn't raised in a homophobic way nor do i have anything against gay people or object their liberties in any way. I do however find male on male scenes and males hitting on me repulsive. If someone male grabbed my ass i wouldn't see it as a compliment but would bash their face in instead. It's just how it is i can't change that and it has nothing to do with me being sexually insecure i know what i find sexually attractive and unattractive.

I don't object gay content if only there was a gay romance toggle in game play settings. If they can have a violence/gore toggle i see no reason why not for this. It would be a win-win situation for everyone.

this is a good response but be prepared for idiotic "We want no straight romance button" responses Image IPB

Why is it an idiotic response? Its fairly logic, why have a "no homosexual romances" button, but not a "no straight romances" button?

Because one offends people, but the other shouldn't because they are used to it?

Am I the only one that don't like how that implies being gay is "as bad" as violence as gore so you need toggle to hide it?

Now you know how most heterosexual women feel when men grab their ass.

It's inappropriate no matter who does the grabbing, or who receieves the grabbing.

I get what you mean here.
Straight males actually seem to have more problems with seeing such scenes even if they are not homophobic, according to research. Like, you know the violent response thing? When sometimes, if hit on, a man who otherwise respects sexual freedom (perhaps) freaks out and hits the hitter onner (I now that isn't a word!)

If anyone grabbed my ass I'd file a complaint; no gender difference at all. I'm just saying.

HOWEVER. It would be difficult to implement such a toggle system without insulting the gay community and also furthering negative stereotypes (i.e. that being gay is somehow bad and disgusting)

On the subject of being raised a certain way...

My mother is a generally good, "fight for the underdog" person and cares very much about people. Case In Point: she will want to take home "poor shames" type people and take care of them regardless of any religion, political views, ethnicity, orientation. She doesn't care, she just wants to be nice and help.

Things like racism and homophobia were never something that needed to be talked about, it helped growing up having a gay uncle who my mother loves as any older sister does a little brother. (When older anyway and not pulling hair)

Her "care for everyone" trait has essentially passed onto me and I tend to be too nice for my good and care a lot about people who are hurting. So it comes as a massive shock to me when people are pointlessly horrible or cruel to someone else for meaningless reasons.

Conflict resultion at its finest, lets bash some skulls for this grave offence!

Would be funny if girls started doing the same once they got pinched/groped. Perhaps, given their lower level of adrenalin and lack of muscle mass we should allow women to shoot offending parties ~ would make groping a thing of the past rather quickly if you had to face a .44.

There is a silver lining here, if a woman grab their ass they'd love it. Image IPB

No, they're using the predicate-substitution operator to show the argument is invalid.  But that takes logic to see.

I don't think simply calling someone a homophobe qualifies as "childish insult".

I'm pretty sure the poster of that comment was referring to other commentary.

If I am wrong- then I apologize.

I am a straight female, and someone grabbing me as a "come-on" would also be met with repercussions. That goes for both sexes.

I have been hit on by women, because I didn't have the foresight to tattoo "STRAIGHT" on my forehead, but those were verbal hit-ons.

Grabbing someone against their explicit consent, and hitting on someone are two different things in my book.

Gee, what a trenchant reply, given your own use of the term "idiotic."  My statement was entirely factual.  The substitution operator is a symbolic logic operator, and it does take logic to recognize.  Your statement was false.

So, let me guess, since we live in a country with freedom of speech, people like the OP have the right to state that homosexualis are disgusting.

I, on the other hand, do not have the right to state that people like the OP are idiot jackasses?

Logic fail on your part.
