You're lucky when i played all the boys wanted to be the barbarian or the elf and many debates and coin flipping would ensue before we could play. Thankfully nobody wanted to be the wimpy looking possibly a girl wizard so i just sat back with some pepsi and watche dthe arguments.

Pft one of them should have carried a flail and smashed it into the table and said "THE BARBARIAN IS MINE!" that would settle all arguments.

Its like me in Risk I always get the Red Army >> Even if I must stare at you like I would strike you down should your hand go for that army.

I can honestly say that I have spent more time playing stuff like Monkey Island, Space Quest, Broken Sword, Gabriel Knight, Alone in the Dark, you name it, than any modern game. First and foremost because you had to use your brains to solve puzzles (in a weird, twisted sort of way :D ), and second, you didn't have internet access to google solutions.

Haha, I remember times when I used to spend hours trying to solve a certain puzzle and having fits of rage when I didn't succeed. Good times :D

Absolutely, I'd sometimes spend hours pulling my hair out at some of those puzzles. More often than not the answer would be so damned obvious too!

Oh Gabriel Knight! I remember playing The Beast Within, what a fantastic game that was. :3

@Jigsaw: What's that "ahem" for? :P

I didn't say no one here was, I said older games seemed to be in the majority in this thread. :P

Jazz Jackrabbit 2. I remember my older brother showing me this game. I could never finish it as a lil kid, but it was kickass.

Maybe there are some other games I've played earlier and liked, but I have an awful memory.  That's the only one I can think of so far. <_<
That reminds me... *runs off to download this game*

Rofl, it's yet another reminder that Cliff Blezinski is very disturbed in the head. Look at those rabbits and tell me nothing's wrong... :o

I remember those on the PSOne as well. I generally dislike platformers but I still owned them for some strange reason. >.>

I'm not positive of the names anymore.

-Tomb Raider
-Parasite EVE (I think)
-This one flight game where you collected gems from stuff you blew up for upgrades

Edit: Their is always Super Mario too!

Ninja Gaiden for the NES was the first good game I played I think not counting Super Mario Bros on the NES(actually played it in the arcade the first time).

First really memorable game I played though was Ghouls N' Ghosts for the Sega Genesis.

Parasite Eve was a great game. I just downloaded it for my PSP actually and am replaying it. I preordered the new one, 3rd Birthday, which spurred that decision on. I enjoyed the second one more though. :3

Haha, great.  I can't say anything about the new third game, as I haven't gotten around to playing it yet, but I will definitely vouch for the second one! :3

Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker.

But after a bunch of Zeldas, my husband introduced me to NWN and I fell in love with the RPGs.
