 Hi, can anyone tell me which is the best 1-handed weapon in e game. is it The Veshialle bought from bogdan, or is there something better?

Probably Starfang longsword if you have Warden's Keep DLC, otherwise maybe Topsider's Honor?

Can you still "backstab" with a long sword and if you've dumped dext. points in a ton and little strength would it be better to just stick with daggers?

For an Arcane Warrior, Spellbreaker seems very well tailored to that specialization.



For a tank (1-handed and shield) without the DLC - the best I found so far was Topsider's Honor as marshalleck stated above.

hmmm.. but i was looking at both starfang and veshialle and both seem pretty balanced. maybe veshialle has a edge cos of its critical. and its value IS about 8 times that of starfang...



other than these 2 weapons and topsider, there arent any gd stuff for warriors?

Damn I got Starfang and Blood Dragon Armor. I am only level 12 and I already got the best equipment. I guess getting better runes for the sword is all I can do.

Keening Blade is really nice too, but it requires you kill Gaxkang, one of the tougher bosses in the game.

I actually liked Topsider better - I gave Keening to Allistair.

Surprisingly I used Adoeh(sp) the axe from the side-quest for 2/3 of the game. (I did the Dwarven plotline last, and was not able to kill Gaxkang until higher in level.)

But then I do not have the dlc yet, so no best weapon for me.

Blood Dragon is not the best armor. You have plenty of room to improve.

In your opinion which is best for tankage?

I have Jugernaught on my Arcane Warrior, so I'm considering alternatives for Allistair my tank. Wade's? Legion?

I don't remember the stats on Legion off-hand, but I'm in Wade's.

Thanks, that is what I ended up using on my tank, but I am not a pure min-maxer, so I have trouble figuring out everything.

Isn't that dlc only? My budget for games have been exceeded until Feburary, so I am without it for a while.

oh yea, i read something about upgrading stuff to higher tier? where and how is this done?

Basically if you sell your stuff to a vendor, if you come back later it will have been upgraded to a tier appropriate to your current level. Be warned: it is entirely possible for your stuff to be too expensive for you to buy back/too difficult to use if you do this!

If you have the Soldier's Keep DLC, use the smith there, most of his stuff defaults to dragonbone if i remember right. I personally am using the Grey Warden's Commader armor (upgraded to dragonbone) and passed the blooddragon armor to Alister , Sten gets Wade's dragon armor. The Commander's armor is, in my opinion, the best looking armor in the game so far.  Playing as an Arcane Warrior now and I am almost shocked how "easy" battles are now, compared to my first run through.

You can backstab with anything.
With the hotfix, stick with daggers. Without the hotfix, it doesn't matter since daggers are bugged.

Where do you get upgraded Grey Warden Armor? I got the stuff from the Warden's keep, but it's not all that great.

Sell it to bodahn and come back when your a few levels higher and the material will of scaled to whats appropriate for your level.



I warn you it will cost though.

Yes, but keep in mind it gets expensive - over 100gold someone wrote in another thread.
