Well some character ingame had a lot of hype about them. but they were VERY disappointed.
Tell BW which character didn't live up to their reputation?
also say who's your favourite one.
I mean when you don't tell them what to do and let them on free action

For me the let down are:
Jack: who was in a Maximum security prison and break out. supposed to be dangerous. but in game where is a rage a powerful fights?
Grunt: Ultimate Krogan but ingame fight you can't see it. the only good thing about him in a mission is that he make great comment
(quiet boring after a while).
Garrus: He took down a lot of the Blue Sun gangs member and he his a sniper but still kill less than Shepard.
Those who are good:
Jacob do great job for a biotic.
Samara she's greta
Thane he always kill them with one shot. Legion do that too
the rest of the team are Ok
My favourite (just because I like them) are Grunt, Samara and Thane
I have got the DLC yet so i don't know about how Kasumi is!
as for Zaeed he does stand out so I never picked him except for when I had to help him.

I've also found Kasumi, Miranda, Jack and Mordin to be valuable if used correctly.
Garrus would be good if he weren't so overagressive. Runs into fire too much and dies.

This thread's topic and subject make no sense. You're trying to compare two things that are fundamentally different. Gameplay mechanics aren't representative of a squadmate's relative power. A character's reputation can't properly be depicted by gameplay mechanics.

Jack totally lived up to her reputation. She killed three YMIR mechs with one attack. I wish Miranda had had such a badass scene.

Miranda.
I was expecting some kind of Femme Fatale.
Instead, I got an inconsistent mash of personalities that didn't know what it was.
A character that did live up to my expectation was Zaeed. I was expecting an angry mercenary with a bad attitute, and got an angry mercenary with a bad attitude

Vanguard/Adept Shepard. I don't believe that class specific scenarios weren't taken in consideration. I felt kinda odd to watch Shepard get tossed around in the shadow broker DLC and not being able to show of his biotics a little. There are a lot of times I think Shepard should be able to battle an Asari with only his biotics in cut scenes.
Sticking with the theme here though, I feel like ashley, wrex, tali, and all salarians lacked the time on screen to prove themselves of who they are in ME2. Going by their descriptions and backstory isn't enough.
Ashley just came by to nag shepard and leave without the ability to apologize or anything.
Wrex went from bounty hunter to diplomat? okay terminator at least show tthat you still got some battle in you. and more elevator smack talk!

Salarians.Have you heard of Tazzik from ME:Redemption. The first time I've been scared of a salarian. Why aren't more of him waling around. Show me the muscle side of the salarian race. Give me a reason to see them as a threat(don't stop my reproductive cycle though. not cool man, not cool.)
