So, who would prefer a happy ending to ME3?

but first and foremost I want one that makes sense, without deus ex machina, circular logic, and the death of galactic civilization as we know it.

If I got high enough EMS, if I made the right decisions through out the 3 games, then why not? I dont even mind a bittersweet ending that's happy for most of the characters. Maybe not for my LI but happy for the rest of the characters my Shep has helped out.

What happens before that, who lives and who dies, the state of the galaxy etc would depend on player choices throughout the series. If you didn't save the galaxy you'd get an ending with the Reapers wiping out sentient life across the galaxy.
I wanted a tragic ending, a sad ending, a bittersweet ending, a noble sacrifice ending and yes, a happy ending.

I'd like a happy-ish ending (in which most of my bros survive and the Reapers are defeated), but I want to have to really work for it--no free rainbows for you, Cheez!
And a mandatory "oh sh*t" ending for if you suck at the game: Reapers win, everyone dies.

I also wanted lots of little blue children. (Just blue, thanks. I'll pass on red and green.)
Seriously though, I would have preferred a happy ending. I was ready to not have one, but I was not ready for the garbage ending they came up with instead.

I always felt I was playing a military series, a story about a soldier fighting a war. Yes, it's sci-fi, but it was always rooted in a realistic feeling, not-to-distant future. Then, the ME3 ending happened. Clearly, I was not on the same page as the Lead Writers.

Too soon to tell, i wont mind either way, as long as the epilogues ARE based on my choices.

wow, was that thread really created a year ago?
I know, I had to do a double take. I thought it was 12 minutes at first glance! (forums are fast you know)
But really, it's scary the OP had that kind of insight...

Does anyone remember from the first game when its exposed that the Protheans unlocked the secrets of the Mass Relays? I mean, they probably could be rebuilt.....
That being said, the ending of the series wasn't that bad. I know a lot of people said it sucked. I mean, in a world of COD endings (YEAH 'MERICA) this one was quite refreshing. Its nice too see that a mainstream game company can actually come out with an ending that makes you think and talk about it for days on end.
Life is rarely black and white, and the ending of ME3 is the very definition of this.
