 I'll go ahead and say that if there were any happy ending I would probably take it, but an ending can be good and depressing at the same time. This was not good. Hell, it hardly lets you know what actually happens. It is very stupid on their part to not even put in a happy-ish ending in a series like this. I could deal with depressing though, but This was crap and not what they promised us.

The best thing I've heard people who care about the story more than the pretty lights and shallow "War requires sacrifice" message is that it's 'Not THAT bad'.
