Very true, however the Chancellor of the Klingon Empire randomly dies as a weak plot device in order to get the Klingons hating the Federation again. If Martok were still alive, that wouldn't have happened. But, as you said, things change. I just hate how they made it a game of "everybody's it" with each power trying to kill each other...not the spirit of Star Trek in the least.

It's okay. Nothing could have prepared you for just how palpable that regret would taste.

Crysis 2: It raised the bar for graphics and lowered it for everything else. If thats the future of shooters then I'm done with them.

True enough. I find the whole Sith Empire vs Jedi to be getting more and more dull however.TwistedComplex wrote...

Why SWTOR, Twisted?
Well I'll play it, but i wanted KOTOR 3
And i know SWTOR is supposed to be KOTOR 3-12, but you would have to be an idiot to think SWTOR will be the same as any KOTOR game

I ment more of "More things change the more they stay the same." You know soon as threat one is gone we go back to how we were. But your right that is stupid I mean not that they hate each other again, more of why...I mean at least be creative or use on of the thousands of other things you could pick up on.

Was Cybermorph the game with the weird head thing that kept popping up at the bottom of the screen? I got some game like that free with my Jaguar and it was god awful. AvP alone was almost worth the money I spent on the Jaguar though.
Yup. It was the Jaguar's pack-in title back when most consoles came with one. Absolutely terrible game.

Ultima IX: Most of the Ultima games are a little before my time(I'm 27) but I did play Ultima VII and it was one of the first computer RPGs I ever played and to this day remains one of my favorites. It was a shame that Ultima VIII was vastly inferior but Ultima IX was the final kick in the quad. What's especially deperssing about it is that it actually wasn't a terrible game, but it was SO buggy that it was unplayable and some of the patches released for it made things even worse. I gave up in frustration as did many other gamers apparently since this game is the game that killed Richard Garriot's career.
From stuff I've read, I am perfectly prepared to believe that I am about the only person never to experience any game-breaking bugs with that game. I played it many times, probably unpatched since I was new to PC gaming and didn't really know about them, and nothing terrible ever happened. I must've used up a lot of luck there! Anyway, I'm grateful it was made simply because without it I might never have found the rest of the series. I have no idea where my copy of Ultima IX has gone but the rest are still on my laptop.

From wikipedia:At the time of its release, many fans felt the game was unfinished and not as polished as the earlier Ultimas were. One of the chief criticisms of Ultima IX was that the story did not do justice to the continuity of earlier parts of the series. The game's plot has many inconsistencies that fans of the series have refused to accept into the Ultima canon. The game was said to be made to attract a more general gamer audience with little or no knowledge of previous Ultimas, so many facts and events from earlier games are disregarded, while others are altered to suit the plot of Ultima IX. Some fans have found a considerable number of "errors" in the game.
Replace ultima with DA2, and it sounds pretty familiar.
Not even close. Ultima IX wasn't even playable upon release. It was so buggy it makes Obsidian games look polished.
Also somebody mentioned Crysis 2. Why? That game is fun as Hell. 12 hour campaign, amazing visuals, varied approach to gameplay blending stealth and action, large environments. It sounds like more first person shooters should try to be like Crysis 2.

Of games I personally played? Cybermorph on the Jaguar. I remember buying that console early in its life cycle, playing that game, and feeling a palpable sense of regret. I could tell I made a mistake buying the console, and there was no way to take it back. Fortunately a few games such as Aliens vs Predator and the awesome that is Tempest 2000 made up for it later. I played tons of bad games. (Many on the Jaguar in fact. Kasumi Ninja anyone? Gah!) Only Cybermorph made me feel like a worse person for having tried it.
Yeah the Jaguar has got to be one of the worst consoles ever made. My older brother owned one and he actually traded his Neo Geo for it.
I remember when I saw Cybermorph my first impression was that it was like Starfox for the Super NES except it was boring.
The 3DO was expensive as hell and a commercial failure but at least it was graphically pretty powerful for it's time. The Jaguar was barely more powerful than the Super Nintendo it seemed even though it did get a pretty good port of Doom.

Tropico 2:Pirate Cove
Set back the glory that is Tropico years with this pitiful attempt to continue the series.
Tropico is about walking the line between socialism and a military despotism! Tropico is about choosing whether to simply ignore your political opponents or have them shot in the street! Tropico is about pretending to be a dedicated public servant while you systemically rob the people for personal gain! It isn't about some petty pirate nonsense!

Tresspasser.
This was a PC game based on the Jurassic Park franchise that was so incredibly ambitious yet it was a complete failure.
I'm not sure if there was a computer at the time that could run it but back then I had a dual Voodoo 2 set up on my PC(state of the art back in 1998) and even that could not get the game at a playable framerate when the action got hectic.
The game tried to have this realistic physics system where you could pick up and use any object but the controls were so awful that it became nearly impossible to manipulate anything. Your character's arm I remember would flail around wildly like it was a rubber band.
I was DEEPLY disappointed. I remember Next Generation magazine hyped this up so heavily and I was expecting a masterpiece. It's sad because there were some really good ideas in Tresspasser and it could've been a masterpiece. I WANTED THIS GAME TO BE GOOD SO BADLY! I tried so hard to overlook it's flaws but I COULDN'T! It's one of the worst games ever made!

I think I like Halo because of it's large environments and shooting action which requires you to use your head when faced with overwhelming odds.

Erm... Halo is absolutely brainless. Nearly all FPSs are.

Frankly, I find that they are brainless at lower difficulties but when the difficulty is cranked up, you have limited ammo, enemies are surrounding you then you can't just go in guns blazing. You have to fight with your head and I think overcoming such obstacles is pretty rewarding.
It seems that no matter how hard things are in Halo I can always find an alternative means to get by. Like if enemies are flooding the door I can flank them and hit them with a sticky bomb. I love finding creative ways to solve problems and Halo really does a great job at this.
If you don't like first person shooters though I don't expect Halo to change anyone's mind. I think Crysis 2 plays a little bit like Halo except it's even better since you have stealth options and more customizability. Call of Duty is stale and brainless though.

Dragon Age II may have had some changes that a lot of people didn't like but Dragon Age III may end up being a better game because of it.

The Old Republic is more like a single player RPG with an online mode than a full blown MMORPG. It's nothing like the boring fetch quests and walls of text like in World of Warcraft.
Even if you never intend to group with other people you will still have many hours of great gameplay in The Old Republic, this is confirmed.
