Blizzard's new MMO will kill WoW. And TOR.

Maybe, because by the time it comes out in 2019 people will want to move on from TOR.

Have you watched ProtonJon's "Let's Play" of it? Sorry, but that's a reason in itself for the game to exist. It's horrible to think that the guys responsible for Superman 64 are the current owners of Interplay :(

I've played games that are even worse than Superman 64. Still, I think Superman 64 deserves to exist because it helped kill Titus who made nothing but crap during the late 90's and early 2000's. Good riddance to that miserable company.

Rise of the Robots is the worst game ever made in my opinion. What is especially offensive about it is that the hype surrounding it made it seem like it was going to be a revolutionary new fighting game with full 3d arenas. Turns out every level was a static background and the characters only had a few frames of animation.
That game made me feel like a fool.

Agreed. PJ could make anything bearable (or, god forbid, interesting).

Yes, I call him PJ.

Dragon Age 2, World of Warcraft Cataclysm, Splinter Cell (Double agent and the new one), Far Cry 2, Total War Napoleon + Empire

What games I don't want to see made in future:

Max Payne 3 so far. Can't think of the others.

PS Correction to Dragon Age 2 so I don't look like a "hater"(Overrated word). I wanted to see it made. There is just a big difference between being made and being spewed.

World of Warcraft Cataclysm,

For breathing much needed life into the most popular MMO? I'm confused as to why Cataclysm, which addressed concerns as much as raised them, would feature in this. From what I've played, it's far better than the lacklustre Wrath of the Lich King.

Far Cry 2

Now this one's got me puzzled - Is it because it's not a continuation on Crytek's abysmal game (With absolutely mind-bogglingly omnipotent AI), or is it something else? I thought Far Cry 2, if seen as a completely different game to Far Cry, was a good game in its own right. The Dunia engine was also a really good platform for them to build on, so the game turned out fairly stable and performed well.

What's all this defense about Cataclysm OnlyShallow89?
Have you fallen off the wagon again?
As a unwritten rule you're not officially WOW free until you haven't played it for 1 year. Cataclysm hasn't been out that long yet so I think you're still a recovering addict if not an addict in denial.

Just curious: What about Wrath did you dislike, specifically? Not that I'm doubting you--I quit soon after Icecrown Citadel was released. I just have a bit of a biased view, seeing as how I was a healer... which tends to get (completely and unsurprisingly) boring after several years, regardless of content.

I played the Cataclysm beta, and the zones seemed far more interesting. From what I've been told, the raids were more fun and featured new mechanics, but I never bothered testing them.

Meh.. I personally didn't like Cataclysm mostly for the fact that my ultimate evil in WoW was lich king and not some dragon. I knew that it's what it was going to but still, I liked Arthas Menethil's story a lot more. Cataclysm brought a lot of life into azeroth indeed. New quests are awesome as well increased difficulty (lol not rly :P) for dungeons. Playing healer became very annoying and boring though, at least for me. Maybe I just played it too much but I don't get the same feeling anymore as I used to. Now I am not holding onto past, but the best time of playing wow for me was back before burning crusade. Botting in WoW is insane as well. Hell, Most of my 85s were leveled using Gatherbuddy. Same with all the profs, all the archaeology finds and honor. Only did arenas once I had full pvp gear because without it - its just a painfully boring game. Game became very bad at that sort of thing. I mean tickets now take 10 hours or more before they are answered. Used to be 10-15 min tops.(US Realms)

As for Far Cry 2... Game just did not appeal to me at all. I tried to play it but I couldn't get further than a few couple of quests just because its BORING.

Once again, this is my opinion and I am free to express it.

Dreamfall: the Longest Journey. Unnecessary sequel that assassinated the greatest video game character in history, and introduced a whole lot of plotlines without resolving any.

April isn't dead. The development of The Longest Journey 2 and Dreamfall: Chapters should be enough to prove it, although there are little bits of evidence here and there too. No way in Hell would FunCom kill her off.

Funnily enough, I was a healer for the majority of Wrath, too. My major problem with Wrath was that it was, well, boring. The Death Knight class was absolutely horrific in terms of playstyle and balance, and I just think that it wasn't that impressive. It didn't stop me playing from start to near the finish (I think I quit before Ruby Sanctum dropped), though. I think the WotLK era brought a lot of issues, too, one of which being the rise in GearScore. I remember telling people to shut the hell up about Recount and learn to use it (Still do, actually. Overall Data is not useful. Sigh. Damage Done for Last Fight is usually the most useful). I'm not saying players were any stupider in Wrath (They might have been, wouldn't surprise me), but they were more prevalent and it just got frustrating.

Haha. You don't even know me, NewBusomjack. I was free for over a year, thank you. I quit WoW in December '09, bought Cataclysm in March '11. That's about 14-15 months, is it not? Oh, and not to mention I've not really played it all that much since I bought it.

Stop treating WoW players like they have lepresy or something.  Its a game you don't like whatever.  I can't stand it myself but I have friends who play it and their normal people with lives and jobs and I know a married couple who met playing it.

I know she isn't dead, I meant "character assassination". Tornquist turned her into a whiny **** for reasons that don't make any sense at all.

Is TLJ 2 and/or Dreamfall Chapters even confirmed?

You see that's bad.  You're treating a serious addiction as if it's normal.  When somebody is suffering from addiction the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.
How are your friends going to do that if you keep telling them it's normal?  Some friend you are!

The Old Republic will kill World of Warcraft.

But will that make it a good game?

Every class in TOR will be customizable so that it can perform any role in a group

The game will be fully voice acted by many of the same great voice actors from other Bioware games, including your main character

Unlike other MMORPGs, your character will play an important role in the plot, you will have a dialogue wheel, a morality system, NPC interaction and companions, even romances.

Even though it's an MMORPG there is enough single player content to enjoy the game just as a single player RPG

You get your own starship and there will be space combat

So yeah, I think this game will be better than WOW and it will beat it in the long run.  Star Wars Galaxies was utter crap but it still was moderately successful because of it's license.  The Old Republic has the advantage of being both a Star Wars game and a good game.  Plus, WOW has peaked and is now slowly dropping in popularity.

The Old Republic won't have as many subscribers initially since it took WOW years to obtain it's numbers but I expect at least a few million after a year and then an expansion pack should bring it's numbers up even higher.

My main concern is the story. While they are doing a lot of things that are revolutionary for an MMO, they are clearly aiming for a good story. But based on the trailers, a lot of the characters seem to be carbon copies of themselves as shown in the Smuggler trailer. Let's not forget that the Jedi vs. Sith story has already been done to death in Star Wars before. I'm not looking for an awesome story just a decent one and one that I won't ignore like I did when I used to play World of Warcraft(keyword: used).

Those Rabbids games. Was fun at the start, but not a patch on Rayman.
BRING HIM BACK UBISOFT ! Don't stop at Origins, be it good or bad.

God of War series. Booooooring. I played it (on the psp, chains of olympus, best psp game according to reviews...) I did not feel satisfied or like I was enjoying myself in any way when I played this game... It's a game where I really had the impression that I was being taken for an idiot... Thick hero... Uninteresting storyline... Boring and intellectually unstimulating gameplay...

I can't say anything about COD and other such mainstream series as I've never played them, but I played the Goldeneye remake on the Wii. It's... OK, but I hate the AI, and well... It hasn't changed my life.  If COD is like this, then I guess it's not worth my time...

Well, they kinda did. The ending for TLJ was a real suckerpunch for April, and considering how (Perhaps ironically) sheltered and naive she was, I think it hit her quite hard hence her attitude in Dreamfall. I think the other thing worth noting is that April is only a supporting character in Dreamfall, so we don't get the full picture for most things.

Yes, by Ragnar himself. I think he said that we should be playing a new title before the end of 2013, but you'd have to check the TLJ Wiki or forums for a source.

Ah, UbiSoft. I'm waiting for FarCry 3, BG&E2, Might & Magic XI (It's not in development AFAIK, but they really need to make it), along with wishing they'd port Clash of Heroes HD to PC.

Every Donkey Kong game after DK64

DK64 is probably the worst 'canon' DK game that came after the 8-bit generation. I think Donkey Kong Country Returns is a great game but not nearly as good as the first three DKCR games. It didin't have enough original bonus rooms, not enough animal buddies, they recycled too much music instead of getting an original soundtrack like the others, and the hidden world only had one level.

I would put WarioWare: Smooth Moves on my list. It's the prime example of how not to make motion control games. All these microgames are gimmicks and half of them don't even work properly. All it does is show the limitations of the Wii Remote.
