Tried installing DA2 on a second machine (a Macbook Pro, firat machine was a Win7 laptop) - the installer took my CD key OK during the install, but when I try to play the game for the first time, it asks me to log into my Bioware account and then tells me that the game could not be activated using the account information so enter the CD key for activation. However, after entering the CD key it tells me that the key has already been used and can't be used again. So, no game.
Any ideas what is happening? Bioware claims you can install/run the game on multiple machines, but this just refuses. Why can't the game be activated using the Bioware account info? I have the game registered to my account.
Any help would be greatlyappreciated.
Can't activate DA2 on second PC (MAC)

Interesting... are you running Windows via Bootcamp or something else on the Mac, or are your running the Mac OS?

I'm running Mac OS, nothing special.
However, I'm thinking it might have something to do with my Bioware account - I downloaded Mass effect 2 for the PC, and it could not activate using my Bioware account either (the account I had JUST used to download it!!). I had to use the registration key (which had never been used before so the activation worked).

I know both Mac and Windows versions of the game come on the DVD... I wonder, however, if registering the game on one then invalidates the other? Your best bet may be to contact EA directly at support.ea.com. I'd be curious about their answer....

Update: Just out of sheer curiosity I tried activating the game using my husband's Bioware account...and it worked!
Makes no sense to me - his is NOT the account that has the game registered...but it worked so I'm not going to complain, I'm just going to play...slightly confused.

I thought I should bump this for other people's convenience, since I ran into the same exact problem and have been trying to find a solution for days, until I ran into this topic moments ago.
I had to wipe my hard drive clean, and needed to reinstall the game. I used my other email, which was already registered in the Bioware social network for some reason, and managed to get past the activation problem.
Thanks for the help, garden girl.
