I'm nearing the end of my 3rd playthrough of DAO. A bit of a trip down nostalgia lane after visiting DA2. Anyhow, I've been pondering and it strikes me that it might be fun to re-visit my mage (who I only played through to the end of her origin story). Most likely, I'll be taking her through as an Arcane Warrior (I love melee characters).
Can anyone tell me if dual wielding is a viable option for the AW? Failing that which is a better choice? 2H or SS?
Thanks in advance

You don't get weapon talents as an AW so being a DW or 2H is mostly pointless. On the other hand a shield is still a shield.

Two-handed is a possible approach for an Arcane Warrior. However, note that it is rather slow and maintaining Haste to have a tolerable attack speed is a drain on magic reserves. A sword and shield may be viable; a Warden in reserve will be testing that for research purposes.
Dual wielding has not had much success. However, this may be a case of poor execution, rather than non-viability.

Sword and shield is recommended as you can get good items for each which boost your mana regeneration, which you'll want to get as high as you can with an arcane warrior (they work best with a dozen melee sustainables on).
