Since the boon can only be asked with 1/6 wardens, out of 4 or 5 choices, I doubt what's happening is that important.

Unless Ferelden opted to free its Circle regardless.

I've never asked for the mage boon ever, and even then Lelianna still talks about waht happened in Ferelden. So it is not the boon. It's more likely the fact that King Alistair is willing to harbor apostates.

Good to know.  In this case I actually agree except I strongly suspect tha Alistair is not only harboring apostates but integrating them directly into Fereldan's army as part of Royal power.  That would give the Chantry an "oh snap" moment.

-Polaris

That's how I feel- Alistair is comfortable enough around mages, has most likely spent a good deal of time around then as a Grey Warden, and he, more than anyone except the Warden and fellow companions, knows how to direct their magic effectively. If Leliana traveled with them, she would know too, and find it worrisome.

In my playthrough- well, the King is sleeping with an Arcane Warrior/Spirit Healer/Battlemage. It's a one-stop shop of nukage, and now she's got students. ;)

Maybe every branch of the Chantry has it's own Leliana.

...you know...this may not be far fetched.... They're the left hand spectres of the chantry.

But Leliana isn't a seeker.... so her being in the fancy armor really doesn't mean anything, does it?

Left hand of the Divine?  She sounds like a seeker to me.  Given her sudden hatred towards magic in DA2, I have to wonder if she was a seeker all along and played the Hero of Fereldan for a fool.  If so, then I wish I had killed her on top of that mountain.....

-Polaris

Its a conspiracy.

"Not all of us desire war" Leliana doesn't hate mages - she working for peace and thinks the champion might help with at least one side.- Cassandra is more iffy but Leliana outranks her

That are taught how to seduce their targets, screw them, and then kill them.

The Chantry is getting cooler and cooler.

@Polaris: It is the Resolutionist, the minority actively promoting armed resistance to the Chantry, which the Chantry has tolerated, not the Libertarians. ACtually it surprised me that the Chantry would ever tolerate something actively inciting rebellion.

The Libertarians are described as being tolerated to monitor malcontents. And now their extreme wing, the Resolutionists, have developed, and they are most definitely not being tolerated...

Actually if you remember, she said that the Circle has always had groups that wanted greater automomy from the Chantry and we tolerated that.  That's not just resolutionists, it's all Libertarans, and she is very, very snotty and anti-mage.

I think Lelianna played me all along, and I wish I kiled her in DAO.

Well, it seems she's wearing plot armour that's thicker than dragonbone. Do what I did- leave her bardic arse in the dust. That way she can't be all rah-rah I'm buddies with the Hero.

Yes she does.  She makes that very clear when you meet her as Sister Nightengale.  She doesnt want war but that's only after the mages didn't show their belly and roll over like good little Orlesian doggies.

Well, as it is mages are only tolerated all in all. She didn't come across like that to me at all. Rather she was just stating facts. The rebels have been tolerated. Thats the long and short.

Man, you meet this girl, get lied to, turns out to be the hand of suppression, meet these two nice chaps, turns out they form one abominatory terrorist, my warden has poor people judging skills.

I don't see why people are getting so upset with her. She's a spy, just cus she's friends with your warden, possibly more, that doesn't mean you're going to know barley any of the details of her life

It's not just that.  She makes no mention of the fact that Meridith has been grossly misusing her authority as Knght Commander (Templars aren't supposed to hold political power any more than mages are), and says that "Kirkwall must not fall to magic" (and openly supports and sanctions a Divine March that would destroy the city to prevent this!)

That's Meredith/Cullen level anti-mage esp when you add in her snotty commentary.

Either her she got an ant-mage brain-tranplant (she even said that a bloodmage could find salvation in the chantry once...something that even Alistair said....."well you remember a whole 'nother Chantry than the one I was raised in") or she was playing you for a fool all along.

Or just her usual Chantry loyalty. Its not because she hates mages persay. They just happen to be the enemy or threat she has been sent to observe. Or wasn't her actual mission at the time just to get the Grand Cleric out before it all went awry?

That's true, she doesn't seem much of a spy. I mean, Cassandra knows nothing about what's going on, her rumours are clearly different from the truth, and Leli was there within a year of events. She doesn't seem to do much investigation of either mages or Templars, just says that Justinia's heard things are hotting up, get the Grand Cleric outta there.

It's part of the whole "Lots of people disliked the Chantry in DAO - We need to make it more appealing in future DA games" path they've taken.

I for one support it!

Well, I left her behind because I was tired of constant ninja romancing me, but the fact remains, if you took her along, and this is true, she's been lying to you from the start. I, for one, would be highly pissed. Like, barred from entering the castle because I will never trust you again pissed.

Lelliana playing the Warden for a fool would be golden. She IS a bard. She lies for a living. And was anyone really buying that whole, "The Maker compels me?"

With all this mage/templar and war with Orlais/Ferelden, not to mention the Tevinter Imperium probably seeing this as a way to regain their empire, AND the qunari threatening vengeance....wow. DA 3, can't wait.

Oh, and let's not forget the darkspawn. They're up to SOMETHING and that dwarven thaig with the idol just sitting there seemed...convienent...

Is Orlais still planning the invasion if Loghain is still kicking? I wouldn't if I were them. You don't **** around with the Hero of River Dane

I just want to say:

**** Loghain.

Now that those scales are balanced, due to that little trinket name thing someone pointed out I also want to say:

**** Leliana. And not the sexy-time, good kind.

I never liked her and her stupid fascination with footwear. Don't chop off her head, chop off her feet so she can never wear shoes again!.

We should have listened to the Guardian of Andraste. He knew all along that Leliana was bull****ting us. Or at least that her vision was fake.

Hmmm Leliana is becoming much more interesting than I thought she was.
I am not sure Lelimancers would react well though.

EDIT: and didnt' Mr. Gaider say he didn't like "gotcha" moments? Or was that a "gotcha" moment?

If you have a very high Cunning and talk to the Guardian about Andraste herself (turns out he was an original disciple), the first Andrastians seem very cool and very resonable.

So just how did they birth something like the Chantry?
