I've never asked for the mage boon ever, and even then Lelianna still talks about waht happened in Ferelden. So it is not the boon. It's more likely the fact that King Alistair is willing to harbor apostates.KnightofPhoenix wrote...
Since the boon can only be asked with 1/6 wardens, out of 4 or 5 choices, I doubt what's happening is that important.
Unless Ferelden opted to free its Circle regardless.
Good to know. In this case I actually agree except I strongly suspect tha Alistair is not only harboring apostates but integrating them directly into Fereldan's army as part of Royal power. That would give the Chantry an "oh snap" moment.

That's how I feel- Alistair is comfortable enough around mages, has most likely spent a good deal of time around then as a Grey Warden, and he, more than anyone except the Warden and fellow companions, knows how to direct their magic effectively. If Leliana traveled with them, she would know too, and find it worrisome.
In my playthrough- well, the King is sleeping with an Arcane Warrior/Spirit Healer/Battlemage. It's a one-stop shop of nukage, and now she's got students.
