It seems to me even more that the Architect and Anders are full of it. Any demon will encourage magic, no matter where from. I killed the Architect for the simple reason of not dealing with a demon of any kind, shape or form. My botched save though has shown me the opposite, leave him to 'give freedom of mind' or some crap to the darkspawn. That turned out well.

The architect isn't a demon.

Ok, an ancient spirit, god, whatever.

I choose to believe you're making a joke.

What should i call him, not simply a demon, not an old god, not a good spirit, he was not a simple darkspawn, having the power to change them all is the work of old magic, not a whim.

You could call him a Darkspawn.

Ser Darkspawn. Seriously if he had a hat i would take it and slap seven shades out of him.

He was not a simple darkspawn by any means, changed the future by getting wardens blood. Apparently, so why are the wardens going to the free marches. There is no call for an archdemon. :pinched:

Is bridging the gaps the right thing to do though. I just thought that will make the story completely linear.

Yes, he's a darkspawn. One who has evolved or something to be smarter, but a darkspawn. My pet theory, for which I have no evidence is that he was once a human mage, probably a warden who tried to save himself from the taint and ended up becoming what he is (was.) But that's neither here nor there. He's just a really smart darkspawn.

Sorry for reviving this old topic but since I currently play Legacy for the first time I'm asking this to myself too. Shortly before you encounter the first barrier in the tower Anders mentions that this experience (entering the tower filled with darkspawn) remembers him to the time when being a warden, seeing darkspawn in his dreams and hearing the archdemon. Hearing the Archdemon? The Archdemon was destroyed before Anders became a warden.

So how he was able to hear him? AFAIK in DA:I there will be no blight so a hint from the devs seems unlikely. Or were the authors from Bioware just a little bit confused?

Likely it's an error. It would be more accurate for Anders to say he heard the call of the Old Gods, as there are still two left.

But only the older wardens hear the call of the old gods and that's the time when they go to the Deep Roads to die in battle.

No. The Wardens always hear the call of the Old Gods in their dreams. The dreams get worse with time, a sign that the Warden's Calling grows near.

The wiki states and I remember it differently. The Wardens always hear/see the archdemon (not the Old God because they only become archdemons when the darkspawn finds and corrupts them) in their dreams but the Old God's call is only hearable for them if the corruption in them grows bigger (which is the time when they leave to die in the Deep Roads).

It is also revealed that at some time after their Joining, Grey Wardens also start hearing this call. This is the actual Calling and the moment when Grey Wardens know they must descend into the Deep Roads to find their death in battle. The alternative would be to become fully tainted, nothing more than ghouls, or to simply die from the taint.
